Holden that clip of the 1958 Assembly which was held at the Polo Grounds and Yankee Stadium is the one where my mother got baptized and was in UberDub mode until she died, which of course wasn't in her plans since she thought she would be walking hand in hand into Paradise with my father who died eight years before she did. Well, so much for the happy life in Paradise theory !!

Xmas, love it or leave it??
by DATA-DOG ini have to say that i’m not enjoying the xmas season.
i have no emotional ties and i’m spending money that i have not set aside for xmas during a slow work season for my trade.. i’m not happy about it, because it’s foolish to spend money when you aren’t making any.
then i feel like i’m expected to do all this, and to be happy about spending money and time on persons that i’m not that involved with.

Growing up as a JW, my father was a UBM, so I grew up celebrating the holidays since the wives with UBMs were told to fix the holiday meal for their mate. So we went to friends and relatives for Thanksgiving and Xmas and sometimes we had the meal at our house. That lasted until around the teenage years, when everyone's houses we used to go to, there kids were grown and out the house and they didn't really go all out anymore. So from teen years until I moved out of my parents house Xmas was really no big deal to me.
After I moved out I started celebrating again. I also go into the habit of watching Midnight Mass from St. Patrick's Cathedral on TV here in NYC every year, don't know how that happened, but I do enjoy watching it. This Xmas I'll be preparing a Roast Duck and all the trimmings. I really don't feel like going to anyone's house, although a for a few years I have, but I'd rather just cook the holiday meals and stay home and enjoy.

Yeah, they can cal it persecution, but I think this particular persecution is coming from within, just left a msg on the other post about this. Most folks really don't care about the JWs, so it's someone that's been effected by their lies.

I have the feeling that whoever doing this either a former Dub or someone being shunned by their family or someone who has a relative that was effected by the blood rule, I don't think this person is a complete stranger to da troof. The average person really doesn't care about the Dubs.

I'm sitting here doing the same thing with my cuppa Joe. Trying to figure out which mall I should hit this afternoon or should I wait until the after Xmas sales - instead of thinking about the obvious FS I missed this morning and getting ready to sit through another two hours of total lies and drivel. Life is good without Borg !!

Commuter Bethelite video
by no-zombie infor those who missed last weeks clam meeting, there was a video played that was amazing ... however not in good way.. we are all aware how thousands of full time bethelites world wide got the boot and put out onto the street.
some having giving most of their lives to the organization, but often with no real way to support themselves other than to depend on the generosity of others.
so when this video talked about how special it would be for those who could step up and become a commuter bethelite, it made me think how calculating the governing body must be.

Does Spock realize that his suit is a few sizes too big? Either he's been ill or he's just one of those never been married brothers, who found a suit on sale and didn't care if his size wasn't available.

I remember an older Elder couple and his wife, his children would now be early and late 70's, but I remember him saying when they first got married they held off from having kids because of the Society. That is so, so said that many couple who desperately wanted kids thought they were doing what Jehovah wanted them to do when it was just 7 old guys in Brooklyn writing bogus rules after finishing a bottle of bourbon.
