Why? What’s the big deal about faith? Why dose God love the Gullible? Why dose God love Sycophants? It’s kinda like saying “I’ll only be real to you if you think really hard about me being real and suck up to me a lot?”This isn't the terms I would use but I understand your point of view. But he isn't real just because I think really hard about him. He's real because I've seen him working in my life. Evolution teaches (very basicaly) that everything that's here, everything that we see, all happened by chance. I look around and see how everything came together and I see anything but chance, I see a designer.
As for the Bible laws being just common sense, did you know that if you lived the dietry law written in the OT that no matter how unsanitry food conditions are in any country, you would be safe. Now knowledge about sanitation and proper food preparation and healthy diets is recent knowledge. Doctors only started washing their hands between patience just a little over a hundred years ago. I don't believe that a bunch of sand travelers would have the ability to come up with this on their own.

I agree that none have all the answers but I’m not prepared to invent answers or speculate without a logical basis.I understand that you're looking for logical or reasonable answer to these questions. Again, I can't give you something that you can hold in your hands. If you really want to know God, all you have to do is seek him.

Question for the ExJW's
by ExmormonRobertson inin mormonism, usually when someone leaves the church, the members give one of two reason for that person leaving.
1. they couldn't live the standards of the church.
or 2. someone in the church had hurt their feelings.. my question is: is this the usual reason the jw's give when this happens to someone who leaves?

"It sounds like lots of people voice the opinion that someone
'stumbled them' in the Mormons, since you mentioned it. Right or wrong?"Good question, and actualy the one my family uses when they tell people why I left the Church. It's not true, sure there has been member I didn't get along with in the LDS Church, but if I still had faith in the beliefs of that Church, I wouldn't risk my salvation over it, that would be stupid. But by claiming this as the reason for me and others for leaving they don't have to deal with the real reason I left, it simply isn't true. It's a form of defense to protect them and the church isn't to blame. I was curious if JW's pulled the same trick, how could anyone with the true knowledge of God and his plan leave? It can't be the Watchtowers fault (of the Mormon Church's) they were offended, that's the real reason, or they can't live the standards. I'm a better Mormon today (by their rules and regulations) then I ever was as a active member. My family can't deal with that.

Some Mormons disown the family members, some don't. Mine has, but this is in part due to the fact that I activily work on leading other members out. Once I discovered the lies and deception of Mormonism, I felt it my duty to tell the others. I see as being no different then waking someone up and telling them that thier house is on fire. It's something I'm moraly obiligated to do. It up to them whether they listen or not.
Others, ones who more quietly leave the LDS Church, usualy have to tolerate the active Mo family always sending elders to their homes or hearing sermons when they visit. My family didn't dare try that but a few times, it stopped when they discovered that I not only knew more about what the Bible taught, but also what the Book of Mormon and the D&C taught better than them. In other words they couldn't trap me. Knowledge is power, it keeps you from being assimulated back and it stops them from getting over on you. -

OK, since you really seem serious about wanting to have an answer to this, I'll try to provide one.
To me, (this is the gospel according to Dana) the #1 reason God makes himself invisible to us is faith. Faith, as you know is the things hoped for but not seen. God his told us that he does want to worship him in faith. To give an example: I've never been to New York City, but I know that that even though I've never seen the Statue of Liberty, I don't have faith that there is one there but I know. I've seen the photgraphs and know people who been there. So I don't need faith that it's there. I do as a believer in God have to have faith in him because there isn't a place I can travel to and see and feel him for myself. If that is the case than why do I believe? (I'm anticipating your next question) I have take the princples written in the Bible and put them to pratice. They over all work. If one does live by these standards, you would have less trouble in this life. If I don't steal, I get to keep my freedom and stay out of trouble. People trust me more. If I don't cheat on my wife, I have a over all better marriage (I think you see the point I'm making here).
As for the spiritual side, I've also put them to pratice and there have been things that have happen to me in my life that can't just be explained by science or natural laws. So I can give God the credit, and I do. But can i give you something you can hold in your own hands that will give you proof. No, that is where faith comes in.
But this may also be only one of the reasons he is invisible. -
