  would anyone like to comment on the following observations?.

  the very large majority of the jws that i come into contact with on a regular basis are not wealthy and many have very low incomes, yet they still make substantial contributions to the wbts every month.

  because they are firmly lead to believe that it is an organisation that is struggling for its financial survival.. following a recent visit from the c.o.

  OK now Fotopic wont work!

  gaaaaaahhh!!!.

  the other day i scanned and uploaded a newspaper article and used the "insert picture from web (link)" button on jw.com to get it to show up in a post.

  it worked fine.. this morning i scan something else and follow exactly the same procedure and all i get is the red x. is anyone else having trouble with fotopic, or is it me?

  i just wanted to let you know that i'm having my only son tomorrow at 4:00 pm by cesarean section.

  i'll be away for a while and when i come back i don't know how much time i'll have but i wanted you all to know.

  did anyone watch w5 last night on cbc at 9 pm?(canada).

  it was another hour long program of child abuse vicitms and the watchtower society.. it looked very very bad .

  bill bowen was on.. it was a very powerful program.. .

  Elders Still Sending Peds Door-To-Door

  although some hall elders may just now (since silentlambs.org exposed the coverup) be informing the police when pedophilia is reported to them, they are all still sending known pedophiles back out door-to-door after those are supposed to be repentant.

  this is insane.

  You're right about the letter-writing being a possibility. Which of course makes it all the more reprehensible that the WT is still sending molestors to the doors.

  I do think this would still create internal problems for the society though. After all, to the vast majority of JW's, field service is an unpleasant chore. Most JW's would love to ve able to fulfill thier service obligations just by letter writing. In effect, paedophiles would be getting a cushy time of it because of being a child molestor! Very bad for morale. Plus of course it would reveal the true extent of the problem within the organisation. Very bad for PR.

  Quite an enigma for the Governing Body. I feel really sorry for them.....NOT!

  For me, this is a hugely important aspect of the whole issue. It is the one thing that makes the Watchtower's paedophile coverup relevant to everyone in society, and that will get the average member of society involved. Who wants even the possibility of paedophiles coming to their door? This is why I was SO happy to see it mentioned on the Fifth Estate last night, and I hope that this angle is going to be massively explored in future media coverage.

  And imagine if legislation was passed to prevent this. This would put the Watchtower in the position of either:

  • saying that convicted molesters who are JW's don't need to go door to door to be JW's, or
  • arguing that paedophiles must go door to door, and continuing to send them.

  Either one of these options entails enormous problems for them, either doctrinally or in their public relations.

  i read the newspaper every morning, but this morning it hit me like a ton of bricks..... i've checked the fresno bee website and the story is not there, so i will try to scan it in and send to someone to post....any takers?.

  ex-church elder accused of molest..... visalia, ca...a 38 year old visalia man who was a leader in a local congregation may face up to 16 years in prison on charges of sexually molesting a 12 year old congregation member..... louis anguaino served until last year as an elder at the kh of jw on 5310 caldwell ave. he is accused of continuous sexual abuse over a two year period of a girl who attended the same congregation..... .

  Look at the dates given:

  The girl told detectives that the last incident happened in January 2002

  After the last incident, the girl told her mother, and the family attempted to keep Anguiano from coming to the home. The girl and her family spoke to the congregation's elders about the alleged incidents and filed a complaint against Anguiano

  Some of the elders contacted Child Protective Services in March 2002, according to court documents. Elders conducted their own investigation

  Why is it that I think the elder's investigation took place before reporting to the CPS. We have a elder non-reporting period here of at least 1 month, assuming that the elders were informed relatively soon after the last incident.

  Well, that was quite incredible. The most in-depth treatment yet, I think. My mind is just spinning at the moment at all the damning aspects of the programme.

  My sincere admiration goes to those victims and advocates who spoke up and took part in this. Your courage is awe-inspiring.

  As for the Watchtower, damn them. Damn their smug, holier-than-thou, inhuman and unfeeling callousness. For any Watchtower lurkers: this isn't going to go away. Your cult will be exposed for the whitewashed grave that it is.
