  Disfellowshipped? does your family still speak to you?

  i have been disfellowshipped for 7 years and my grandfather refuses to eat with me.

  there teachings are to love one another but this is not the case.

  does anyone else have this problem.

  Welcome, Damian.

  I am DF'd as well as one of my brothers and mom has shuned us since around 1997. She also shuns my sister who was never Df'd, she just DA'd. The woman has not even met all of her grandchildren. Very sad. I stopped trying to get through to her a long time ago but every once in a while I get the urge to contact her. It sucks but really there is nothing I can do to change the situation short of returning to the cult in good standing. Ain't gonna happen.

  Good luck to you. And I agree, your grandpa needs to be reported to the police if he is driving drunk. He is a danger to himself as well as innocent by standers.

  getting older is ok and i am not doing a thing for my b'day had one party in my life and that was at 8. i was told isn't it sad to know you have lived longer than you have left.

  i responded it is not quantity but quality.

  i really don't feel old i am still young at heart and will be til i am in diapers.

  Definition of Forgiveness

  as many of you, i am angry at the watchtower for their deceptions and damage it has caused to my wife's family and i harbor negative feelings that actually work against my healthy state of mind.

  i can't forget but i want to forgive.

  but what is the kind of forgiveness that will make me a better person?.

  Thanks for this thread, Gerard. And, WAC, great advice.

  I have not forgiven the WTS, yet. This is all new to me still and I think it will take a while for me to reach the point of forgiveness. As I mentioned on another thread, I feel a combination of rage and pity. Rage toward the borg and pity for those that believe the lies.

  One day I hope I can forgive, but I am not ready, yet.

  although, after experiencing many disappointments and failed dates, i cannot let go and i cannot dismiss the expectation that god will intervene somehow.

  i still hold on, hoping that maybe i will not experience sheol and neither will some of my loved ones.

  I am new to the truth about the truth so the thought is still with me. But, I am trying my best to have a more positive outlook on life. It will take time. My conscience mind accepts the fact that there is no armeggedon looming, my sub-conscience is still toying with the idea because every once and a while I have "doubts".
