When I was a dub and listened to these talks I felt soooo privileged and blessed for having these "loving & wise men" in our midst.
Now, I swear I feel dumber after watching this.

Yeah nickolas, I know the thread you're talking about. Thought about placing it there but then thought, people are going to believe what they want to believe no matter how much common sense and reason is used.
People will always look for reasons to believe in delusions, that's just part of being human I quess. The hard part is being able to catch yourself when you're doing it.
Glad you liked it Curtains.

a documentary film series on the personal (un)faith journey of new york times best-selling author and unc chapel hill's agnostic religion professor, dr. bart d. ehrman.
the goal of the series is to explore in depth ehrman's personal journey and to bring it into dialogue with others.
this is not an attempt to disprove or disagree with anything ehrman says, as do most of his popular evangelical/fundamentalist interlocuteurs.the goal is to take seriously the intellectually honest search ehrman has engaged in and bring that search into conversations with thoughtful people of faith who can agree with ehrman on the historical facts and still practice faith in a way that calls into question our very definition of what faith even is.
I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

the toughest anti-illegal-immigrant measure in a generation passed the arizona legislature this week.
if signed, as expected, by republican governor jan brewer, the law will give local police sweeping new powers in regard to undocumented workers.
currently, immigration offenses are violations of federal, not state, law, and local police officers only can inquire about a person's immigration status if that person is suspected of another crime.
Just ask yourself this: if good old jesus was to come around again, which party would he most likely agree with?
Think about that long and hard.
