Masons/Illuminati
by Black Man inanyone know anything concrete about the masons & the illuminati?
i've read some things here and there on the net but nothing outside of general ramblings?
i've heard the typical, "they run the freeworld", "when you become one, you're one for life", "you'll have a great hookup if you're one of them" spiel.

I think most masons would tell you..but then they would have to kill you.

My Christmas letter to the Governing Body
by Mindchild insubj: mindchilds christmas letter to the gb.
dear members of the governing booty and all the rest of you anointed guys:.
listen you fat little trolls, i've been helping you out every year, by helping to clean up the messes you have been making in peoples lives, to encourage people to get over the great pain they have when they realized how badly you screwed them over and now i have to put up with lots of angry ex-dubs at my favorite online watering hole who havent learned to release their pain yet, and they are just making for one too many unhappy flame wars...i hate to break it to you gb boys, but it's definitely payback time!

Mom...rolled to death by Smurfs? That is funny...yet at the same time sad because it is something I would have taken seriously as a kid too.

Prayers welcome but not neccessary
by sweetone2377 intoday i am leaving for ky, where my jw mother and step father reside.
sometime during this hectic week, we are having a little meeting of our own with them.
you see, my mother has repeatedly disregarded my wishes and have snuck my children to meetings (ages 2, & 3), taken them out in service, put them in direct contact with a paticular elder that we expressed several times that the kids were to be no where around, etc etc.

I think the suggestion that your mom visit you at your home is a great idea. They are really not old enough to be left alone with her if she is going to continue to talk to them about religion when you have asked her not too.
My mother very rarely let me sleep over my grandma's house on weekends because she went to church every Sunday. One Sunday I went to the church including the Sunday school. My mom was not too happy...until I told her that I kept raising questions about what they were teaching hahah. I was a devote little kid.
My sister told me a little story a few months ago. Her husband (nonJW) had asked their 2 year old daughter if she wanted to have a birthday cake. She was in her no stage, so of course yelled "NO!" Her dad laughed and said "Why not?" Then his 6 year old son piped up and said "Maybe she wants to obey Jehovah." My sister thought this was great. I probably would have 4 or 5 years ago too. Now, though, I think it is just sad that this religion is starting to put a wall up between a parent and his kids. It may be a little thing, but it will grow over time.
I hope your mother comes around to respect your wishes. It is a shame that her loyalty to the borg is greater than her love for her family.

Questions about Athletic Activities while a JW
by AjaxMan inhi, everyone.. on my researches about the jdubs.
i read that they are restricted or forbidden from engaging in activities such as sports, working out in a gym or in martial arts.. i, who does all three, have a question for the members of this forum:.
when you were a jw, could you do any of the three activities mentioned?.

I know lots of current JWs that work out at a gym. They are not supposed to do martial arts, but I do know several witnesses now that do let their kids participate in sports because they are not narrowed minded. The ones I have in mind have a good standing in the hall.
If you are a MS or an elder I think your family can get away with a lot more.

Got the XBox tonight!!!
by Eyebrow in...and i gotta say it was well worth the money and the wait!!!.
i guess we should have used the money to pay bills...but you have to splurge once in a while.
i play nascar heat and caused about 34 wrecks...very neat game.. and to think if i was a jw still i would have been sitting in the book group instead of taking out dale jarrett and kevin harvick.. what a shame!

We had a similiar game to Pong for our first video game.
It is 300 smackeroos, but it only comes with one controller so we got another for 40 and the remote control for 20 so you can use it as a DVD player too.
I gave my husband a hard time when I first heard about the xbox several months ago. I thought it was a lot, but since it is a DVD player too it is not so bad. We were going to wait until we got our tax return, but he got an unexpected bonus at work, so I told him he should finally splurge on himself for a change.
I feel a tad materialistic tonight, hahaha! Dang borg! But I guess everything balances out because my sneakers are three years old and my car is 14 years old and my husband's is 12 heehee.
My brother has Playstation 2, we have a playstaion 1, all sorts of nintendos including the 64. I have also played the Dreamcast which I loved. The Xbox has the others beat, hands down. The controllers are bigger, they were designed for adults, not little kids. The control also shakes and rumbles with certain games. It is pretty neat.

Okay, I checked it out.
But, I still don't understand why any money is required. Most newspapers will accept press releases via email or fax. Most people can fax right from their computer, so this would eliminate faxing fees.
Just edited this to let you know I posted this question on XJW news also.
