i always wondered (even when i was still in the organization), but never had the guts to ask.. if a woman becomes pregnant, but the egg has implanted in the falopian tube....will the jw's condone an abortion to save the life of the mother?

or does it boil down to their usual pansy-ass, "matter of conscience" excuse.

wow..that is such a good point. I never really thought of that...if the fetus is not entitled to resurrection, they how can they claim it is as valuable as a born child when it comes to abortion? Apparantly to the WTBS it isn't to God.

Now, I am one think thinks abortion should always be the last resort...but wow, what a HUGE point!

That always bothered me. I have a sister whose child died the day before he was due. It always made me sad to think he did not have the hope of resurrection.

I thought about that too....funny thing, when I got married I had already left the KH, and wanted to keep my maiden name, but even though the hubby didn't object, I could tell his feelings would have been hurt...so I changed it.

I don't regret it...thank god his last name is not hard to spell are wierd sounding.

The parents didnt attend the hearing, I bet they are thinking in the back of their heads....thank god!

i have had a rough couple of weeks with these kidney stones.

i would have liked to take a few days off to recover but i have contracts to complete before i fly off to frenchbabyface land.. this last monday i was hurting pretty bad but managed to suffer though a day of site prep for a big tile job.

i came home about 3 pm and cleaned up and went to bed.

it almost seems like this non-study article takes a perverse pleasure in allowing witnesses to "keep their trials" instead of ending them.

how many poor JW families are out there, that refuse to go to a food pantry because it is run by a church?

How many refuse to buy clothes at the salvation army or maybe other things they need because that is a church?

We were really poor growing up, and a very large family. My mother sometimes would be able to get food stamsps as needed, but we could have gotten more if she had been willing to go to a church pantry. But her conscious would not let her.

We survived...but it makes me think of worse off families forced to wait on Jehovah.

How about the country, was in it the 60 or 70s, I think it was Malowi? The brothers were actually being killed for not joining a political party. Now, there was only ONE party, so what the hell did it matter if you joined....but the bastards back at the wtbs....they would not allow! It makes me sick.

So basically. God forbid any JWs be able to figure out a way to end their trials......I think one of the big problems is that many JWs are Crisis Christians...when things are bad they cling to the "truth" and when things get better, when they have the time and energy and brain power to THINK FOR THEMSELVES...they look at the religion and say...what they hell am I doing???
Keep the peeps addicted to waiting on Jehovah and they will need the KH and the elders.....

My Son is starting to hit problems with JW Mother.

my son is 15 and lives with his mother in a strict jw reigime.

he told me the other day that he made arrangements to meet his friend from school to go skateboarding.

his mother found out and made him call his friend from school and cancel.. she then gave him a long lecture, complete with a young people ask video about association.

Here is what I would do:

Be honest. I don't think it would be wrong for you to tell him that you do not agree with his mother. However, at the same time, tell him that since he is living iwht her, that perhaps he should respect her wishes.

If you do get him on the weekends or other times, if you feel free to do so, invite one of his "worldly" friends to do something with him and you.

He is upset, and I don't blame him, but you are right to be concerned about this becoming a bigger issues than it is.

I would also praise him if he is not trying to sneak around his mother, and let him know to always be honest with you about whom he is with, etc....

I agree with others her who say that if he is at a point where he can chose to live with you, then let him, so he can live a more normal life. But if that does happen, please make sure you encourage his relationship with his mother. If he lives with you he won't have to go to the Hall, so many that will help his relationship with his mother, because it is, after all, biblically the father's responsibility to make the children go, so that would be one burden off her shoulders she can stop worrying about.

i receieved this "poem" from some witness chick who sent it as a forward to myself and a whole bunch of other dubs.

my sister received it from someone else and i have other friends who received it from other sources.

im sure every young witness who has email has received it by now, and it's the most sickening, disheartening thing i have seen in a long time.

I have known just as many happily married JW couples as non JW couples, so I guess I have been lucky.

I was shocked a few times of course....like the one sister that had married her husband right out of high school, and then 20 years later left him for his best friend....just two years or so after they had had their last kid.

On, to find out that a couple that I just adored decided they needed to separate so he could find himself, after 10 years of marriage...but I have seen non witness marriages break up too.

My mom was appalled when I annouced I was marrying an "unbeliever" . Dunnn dunnnn dahhhh!! But of course, I had already faded away, and would have never been involved with him when I was a JW nazi.

In fact, there were at least two guys when I was a nazi that I was seriously interested in, and vice versa that were not JWs...and I totally cut off spending time with them. SO sad ...but if I had not, I would have my husband, so it is all for the best.
