there are probably some out there that is going to hate me for this...but there comes a time in a person's life when their driver's license should be taken away.

Organization Books.
by refiners fire inyou know, there is nothing like the pleasure of looking on your bookshelf and seeing all those dub books in their hard bound covers and their pretty colours.
you can arrange them all kinds of ways, putting all the yellow ones together and the blue ones together .then you can put the green graded ones in the middle creating a flowing rainbow effect.
looks nice.

A kindred spirit! I loved all the different colors! Except for that nasty pea soup color a few of them had.
When they started printing all the books without hard covers, that was a bit of a sign for me. The books just don't smell the same. And if you throw it at someone, they just don't do the same amount of damage.

More extreme witnesses
by freedom96 ina recent thread about "bad" music groups reminded me of when i was growing up.
my mom went through my record collection, and literally scratched with a nail all the "bad" songs on the record.
in some cases, i was lucky , fortunate to keep one or two songs on an album.. sure enough, years later, as a fan of music, i kept many old albums, and going through them i saw how many scratches were on the records.

I have to admit...I was a bit of a Nazi witness at times...
my poor younger brother: my mom and I would gang up on him and make him go through his comics, and take away what was violent or demonic....he has since forgiven me =)
I also totally destroyed a huge collection of tapes I had....all of my Grateful Dead tapes, and a bunch of others when I decided to get serious about 'the truth"....
The worst thing I ever did was read my sisters diary when she had gone "astray". I found out that a ministerial servent, who was getting married in a few weeks, had ripped opened her shirt and asked to touch her breasts. He was a very good friend of mind, and I was so angry that I took one of my other friends from the hall, a brother that he studied with and confronted him. I found out about a year after he got married...and his wife never knew. I told him he had 1 week to go to the elders or I would. He was counseled, and my sister was reprimanded, and was not allowed to go out in service....dare I say this helped push her out, and caused a rift in our relationship.
I should have just kicked his ass.....that would have been more appropriate, and a lot more fun. (I'm a big girl, I coulda taken him hahah)
Boy was I an extremist bitch! Luckily, my sister has forgiven me.

Are you a different person now from when you were a JW?
by NaruNaruChan ini got an e-mail today from an old high school friend who, after we met for coffee, said "wow, you're normal again!
i mean, you were boring, stuffy, and generally not much fun when you became a jw.
now you're back to the old so-and-so that i remember, i love it!

I am different in the fact that think I am better at seeing others' point of view.
I have a LOT less guilt, and have a better relationship with my siblings because I am not always trying to be a good witness example...I still try to be a good example, but am not constantly telling them that they are screwing up because they won't go to the meetings, or forcing my younger brothers to throw out there comic books because they are ooooooo DEMONIC or too violent....
Hmmm....I was a JW Nazi MegaBitch!!!!
Still a bitch when I have to be...but not caught in the perpetual, uptight, always feeling just not good enough, "just a woman" person that my local KH made me feel.

Watchtower Letters Now Offline
by NeonMadman inbecause of problems with my strike9 account (i had upgraded to a $5.00/month from a $2.00/month account in order to accommodate the extra bandwidth for the letters.
unfortunately, they kept billing me for both fees.
when i cancelled the $2.00 charge through paypal, it made the whole thing go blooey), the watchtower letters are now offline.

Did You Ever Believe This?
by RAYZORBLADE inwith all these 'apostates' receiving visits from the jws out in their field ministry, did you, or do you remember anything vaguely reminiscent of this statement i am going to post.
more or less, that because said-jehovah's witnesses are inspired or have jehovah's blessing, that they can avoid harmful situations, or have some sort of divine guidance, thus they should be able to know or sense we are: a p o s t a t e s ?
i seem to recall something like this.
