My Dad just did the sweetest thing
by Mulan inmost of you know my 90 year old (divorced since 1969) parents live with us.
i am getting ready to go to the grocery store, and dad called me over to tell me to buy a box of chocolates for mom, for mother's day tomorrow from him, and a card.
i thought it was the sweetest thing, because he is blind, and has a form of dementia, but there are times when he is crystal clear too.. mom heard him and is very touched.

What GOD says about US.
by Blueblades inaccording to the bible here is what god says about us.. the man has become like one of us,throw him out of the garden, don't let him live forever.. i regret that i even made man.i am going to wipe him out!.
the inclination of the heart of man is bad from his youth up,so i am not going to call evil down upon him anymore,i'll just let him grow old get sick and die!.
there is nothing that they may have in mind to do,let's confuse their language, that will slow them down until bill gates comes along!.

I am sure it is very difficult....I hope that in the coming weeks, the clouds will part and you can feel the sun on your face, and know that there is still someone out there for you that is right for you. If you can, try to focus on something else in your life that you want to improve that is independent of a romantic relationship. I found that it help me several years ago when I had a break up. Easier said than done, but if you focus on yourself, any little improvement no matter how small, it will help your self esteem, morale, etc...

Anybody ever try the Atkins Diet?
by El Kabong inok, this has probably been discussed before, but, how many here have tried the atkins diet?
did you have a good/bad experience with this diet.
the reason i ask is because i went to my doctor and my bp is way up.

If you are going to do the diet...FOLLOW IT TO THE LETTER!!!
It is not for people that do diets half assed (having done many things half assed...I am an expert hahaah)
It is perfectly safe if you are careful...just remember that the induction period is not to be stayed on too long.
I tried it last year, and while I was on it it worked...but is a difficult diet to do if you have others in the house to cook for
good luck!

Make 'em sweat, Baby!
I wish you both luck...I hope it is entertaining, but that if you do get DF'd it won't effect your relationship with your family.

"Special Meeting" on Sunday 4/27/03. How special?
by robhic ina friend of mine who is a jw told me last night that there is a special meeting today that she wanted to attend.
since her health in the last few months has prevented meeting attendance (other than the memorial) i wonder why she is so determined to make the meeting today, sunday april 27, 2003. could it just be a local thing?
do the jw do that or is every meeting in lock-step with all the meetings in the country if not the world?

Okay...you need to RUNAWAY from this woman...and leave her father alone for godsakes!!
she is a wacko, and you should have left after she was unwilling to show the world you were together after 6 months.
And, why would you contact her parents and meet with them in secret??? I have to tell you, she really was wrong to treat you the way she did, but wow....what you did was extremely disrespectful. Tit for tat I guess.
Buddy....l wish you the best in the world, but you need to be more careful with what you put up with, and NEVER arranged to meet secretly with a woman's parents if they don't know you.....this is an example of Karma taking over...
I have very rarely seen a relationship work that started out as adultery. Never date a JW unless they are DA'd, Disfellowshiped, or have been away for several years and have established a life outside the religion.
just my two cents...I don't mean to sound cruel, but keep your dignity and you will find a dignified woman; one that will respect you.

Just popped my voting cherry.
by scotsman init's the local council and parliamentary elections in scotland today and i've voted for the first time.
the rain and voter apathy look harder to overcome than witness indoctrination as up to now the turn out seems low.. strangely, my jw family, despite their neutrality, are all keenly interested in how i vote.
i wonder if they could be persuaded to break the taboo.
