Mr. Flipper & Mrs. Flipper, just a reminder if everyone in their neighborhoods could take copies of the associated press release and post it on cars(just a few) in KH parking lots during Sundays meeting then word will get out to these demented souls. They need help, and not the kind they get from perverted elders or GB members aka Uncle Ted Jaracz. Thanks.

Mr. Flipper here. Mrs. Flipper and I discussed it and me being an ex-witness who is fed up with people being abused by condescending self righteous, pompous elders and GB members, we have decided to help out a bit in a proactive way. We can talk about this until the cows fly over the moon, but what will really help we feel is if everybody who has a pure concern in this will make copies of the associated press release and distribute them in neighborhoods by kingdom halls it will attract attention to this. My 22 year old ex JW son and I on Sunday are planning on parking out in the street near various kingdom halls and after the meetings start move quickly to maybe only 5 vehicles and put this information under their windshield wipers. Not necessary to give it to all members, (don't want to take too much time or will get thrown in jail, my wife says) but if just some get it, message will spread. We all need to help out in this if we really care about the victims, as they are unable to speak for themselves. Didn't a scripture say the rocks would even cry out?? Let's start throwing our best fastball at these hypocrites and stir some real changes up, hurling rocks of truth, hard hitting. (You like my illustrations, I used to give talks too.Ha! Ha!) But seriously if it makes even some witnesses reconsider this cult they are in it will be worth it. Peace to everyone on here. Mr & Mrs. Flipper.

RAY FRANZ--You Are Appreciated Very Much!!!
by minimus inafter coming home to read what has happened today on this board, i would just like to say that no matter what differences anyone has ever had with ray franz, i, for one appreciate what he has done for me.
ray has helped more people to look at their spirituality over the last 2 decades.
he is not perfect, but he has been a voice of reason and a man of integrity.

Ray Franz is a major whistleblower who lost a lot in the process. My ex jw husband learned a lot from CofC - even being a lifetime JW with elders in the family. He didn't know ANY of that stuff - that is some serious censoring in that org. I appreciate anyone with the nerve to do what he did and wish him a happy 85th birthday.... flipper

my cat died today... i need consoling...
by theinfamousone inthis is the guy that sat on my razor blades the one time i was thinking of cutting myself... this is the guy that everytime my dad beat me, would come to my room and lay with me... this is the guy that one time jumped into the bathtub with me while i was crying after a brutal beating, the cat hated water... this is a cat that was more family to me than my own father and mother combined... this was my best friend... .
today i had to do the hardest thing i ever did, i had to choose to have him put down... and as he fought the vet, and tried to bite her, i put my hand on his head, and he stopped struggling... and as they put the last needle into his leg, he purred until he died... the vet says she has never seen that before... this was my best friend and i had to kill him... fuck, im a baby, but i miss him soooo much.
the infamous one.

Are JW's generally better than average people?
by JH ini for one, would blindly trust just about anyone on this forum, just the fact of knowing that you already were a jw.. does this mean that jw's in general are better people or are we a very close bunch of people?.

Welcome, Rosalee....It's good to have your counterpoint - makes for lively discussion and helps us here practice tolerance. I don't believe Jw's are better or worse in general, however from what I've seen they are like a lot of other religions where they say one thing but do another. Also their actual day to day practices encourage the backbiters, hypocrites, and insecure ones. I think a lot of the kindest and most honest JW's get forced into the background. From what I've seen in my 52 years, some of the most spiritual people are the ones who do volunteer work, and are always there for friends, neighbors, and family. Even if they smoke, gamble, have "unsanctioned' sex, belong to no church. Some years back I had a customer, middle aged woman who fit that description, worked as a bartender. She had taken in her dirt poor half senile mom - not only did she take care of her and change her diapers, but did the same for several of her mom's decrepit old friends. For free. Every other word a cuss word, annoying personality, but great sense of humor. She also would take these folks to their churches - a bunch of bullshit, she said, but gives them security. Honest - pointed out one time that I had underchareged her. There are so many people like her. My whole adult life I would rather be in a lifeboat with her than with someone who thinks they are better in the eyes of god, which excuses some pretty bad behavior. If you look into some cults you will see a lot of similarities to JW's. Yikes...I checked out scientology from a link someone had on this board. They are like the watchtower on methamphetamine gone psycho. Well, there are my brilliant opinions.....flipper

Wiki article about Bi-Polar disorder - wondering if anyone can relate

Needproof, I've had clinical depression most of my life, didn't get therapy until my late 20's. Therapy helped a lot, but I would still have episodes (when things were going well otherwise). I avoided medication until my mid 30's - my therapist also wasn't big on medication, unless absolutely necessary. She was the 3rd therapist to recommend it - they all 3 had said I was doing everything right in therapy, learning well, taking care of myself. So good chance it was chemical imbalance - time to try the drugs, as sometimes I was suicidal. Even with running 25 miles a week, good diet, vitamins, all that. Best move I ever made. However, once I would feel better I would go off the meds very gradually, every time depression came back. I did that for about 7 years. So now I've stayed on for about 6 years straight - life is so much better. You miss so much when your own brain chemicals are poisoning you. Can you tell I feel strongly about this? It's like my mission in life - I hate to see anyone going through that, and I try to help a little with my own experiences. Also, you might not need much - I'm on a smaller dose than most people need - don't notice any side effects. I'm still pretty emotional in general, don't feel like it dulls my senses or anything like that - I can get pretty pissed or weepy but when there's a reason for it rather than just out of the blue. Please take care of this, keep posting, let me know how you are.

Needproof, sounds more like clinical depression (without the manic phases). If it starts happening a lot, or lasts more than a few days, believe me it's worth getting medical help. When your'e in it it feels so real, after it passes it can blow you away that you were thinking that way. Wish you the best flipper
