Congrats to your cool kids. Those relatives are so nuts. I suppose one good thing is they are showing their true colors to everyone, including the kids who need to know how bad that religion is. If you can, maybe fill their slots with really nice friends and neighbors. It would be a lot more fun and more supportive of your son's graduation. I've soooooo had it

:( on top of everything else in my life these days...im in the process of planning a sweet sixteen party for my little girl for may 12, and my oldest son graduates from high school on may 18 followed by a party i am trying to have for him on may 26 followed by my daughter's four dance company recitals the weekend of june 1. also my youngest sons birthday is this sunday..... so...i spent days designing and mailing out gorgeous graduation invitations to everybody i know and all our wacked relatives.
i wrote to the jws in advance and asked if they would please put their differences aside for one night to celebrate my son's achievements.

My xjw husband and myself never knew about the scandals, for one thing, Mr. Flipper has seen so many here who have gone through what he has, and worse. I had always thought of Jw's as harmless religious nuts - now I know they can do terrible things and have some bizarre beliefs. We both have seen that a great many who leave the borg are on their own and really need the help and support they get here. I was whinihg to my first therapist, years ago, about how I never had a comeback when one of my coworkers would say mean catty things - I would just stand there speechless. He told me "When you wrestle with pigs you both get muddy but the pig likes it." It took some years to sink in, but now when someone does that I'm just glad I'm not like that person. Don't be like her, and don't be part of that kind of activity. There are all kinds of people out in the world getting away with stuff like she does, but ain't jack we can do about it. Turning her in might not get her in much trouble - if she is a sex addict they don't usually learn to control it without lots of therapy. She might have gotten together with some of the elders over the years who would now work to sweep it under the rug. Also as much as we'd all like to see her get nailed, it's usually best to avoid any interaction with or about people like her who might enjoy getting revenge. Ain't worth it. assuming he was no longer a witness as he was looking at all the porn movies, i start asking him how he's been.
he then insinuates that the only reason i have 5 kids is for the social security payments.... i then come home furious...and yell at my family!.

there is a guy holed up in yuba city, california somewhere that has called in a threat to make the va tech massacre look like a holiday!
the schools are either in lock down or going into lock down now as they try to find where the guy is - they did show a picture of him and apparently he is equipped with an ak47 and some other miscellaneous things like bombs.

Elders on my tail

i have not spoken to anyone in the congregation about my decisions as of late and i dont plan on informing anyone either.
i have had the elders at my door at least once a week for the last few months and every car group out in service that needs to fill in some time are stocking me here too.

They may indeed mean well and be "shepherding", but I'd be careful what you say to anyone because it really depends on the individual elders whether they're sincere or vindictive. Mr. Flippers ex and daughter knew just who to go to when they decided to make trouble for him - his resentful older bro (elder and 7 year Bethelite who is 5 hours away), but especially the Po from his old cong (2 hours away) who is petty and blustery, still pissed at Mr. F for getting away 4 years ago. When 2 elderes from that cong came to our door recently to tell Mr f he was df'd, one of them had a frozen smug grin and was obviously enjoying himself. the other elder seemed sincere- not happy to be there, like he was doing something necessary but sad. This idiot crankster surrendered to the police last night.Yuba City's about an hour away from here. I wish the news media would have done more coverage of the victims instead of the Virginia shooter. It's not like he's so special - just another cookie cutter moron copycat pschopath much like his predecessors. The victims, however, were interesting people of different backgrounds, students. Pisses me off that this jerk's "manifestos" and photos get plastered all over the place, just like he wanted. Why don't they make note of the fact of how cowardly, sick, and unoriginal he was.
