Minimus- Good subject here, Mr. Flippers take. My parents still respect my fading, they're 82 and 80, but I have a superdub older brother an ex bethel elder 60 who wrote a letter to me stating he can't understand the mindset of anyone who would take themselves out from under Jehovah's love! I guess he better find it for himself then! I feel I still have it, just not in the way they see it! My son is faded like me 22, but my 2 adult daughters 20 and 19 still dubs won't have much to do with me. They wouldn't even let me walk them down the aisle at their weddings last year and this year, and no thank you cards for the gifts! But Mrs. Flipper and I just attended trying to show dignity and grace in spite of being dissed. It's tough. I'm not suprised by my brother because he thinks he's hot stuff being a well known elder, semi important. But like you, I don't even see many former witness friends unless it's weddings or funerals. I've reached out to make new friends and family, and that has helped. I feel those who really love me will want to be with me. What more can you do?Peace, Mr. Flipper

Mr. Flipper here again. Also before he died I saw John Lee Hooker live in Reno 1998, felt lucky, good show. Have seen blues legends B.B. King and Buddy Guy puts on one of the best blues shows I've seen. Very energetic guitar playing. Thought I'd kick in about the blues there

Mr. Flipper here again.Mrs. Flipper and I rolled all over the floor watching Borat a few weeks ago. Will be a cult classic comedy for sure. Of course my wife and I have off beat humor, she loves Monty Python stuff, I like "Dumb and Dumber" , "Cable Guy" with Jim Carrey. Love dark twisted humor. Peace out, Mr Flipper

Bamboozled.
by Blueblades inone of the saddest lessons of history is this: if we've been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle.
we're no longer interested in finding out the truth.
the bamboozle has captured us.. it's simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we've been taken.

Blueblades- Mr. Flipper here. I finally realized it in 2003 at age 44 when elders were giving me personal opinions on something important in my life which was horrible advice. Not at all in harmony with what the gb tells them. Then the child molestation coverup and sttlements just confirmed in my mind I had made the right decision to leave in 2003. But as you say, it took me 44 years. I was raised in it

Name the 'Finest Hypocrites' you know.
by AK - Jeff ini knew of an elder who ran a janitorial business for decades here [surprize] - his primary employees were his kids, ranging in age from 3 or 4 to teenager at various times.
he would bring in the whole family, they would spread out and empty bags, vacuum, and dust.
in a flash they are out and off to the book study or whatever.. he was able to 'witness wipe' several offices after 5 o'clock and before the 7 o'clock meeting times.

Jeff- Mr. Flipper here. I've been self employed for almost 25 years in commercial janitorial and when I was a witness tried to actually take time to help others get their own business started. I was never worried about competition because I lived in a area where there was plenty of work. But what I did see was many of the"friends" in the organization if they wanted my services would try to get me to work for dirt cheap or for nothing at all, just trade meals or something for the services. I would see other j-dubs do this to other self employed witneeses, whether the person was a contractor in construction, roofer, drywall, painter. My ex-wife (still a witness) was great at playing the inadequate and unable to do anything for herself type person, and connivingly weasel people over to the house to get their services for nothing. She would play the damsel in distress so good, the brother would feel guilty about charging her, and then since she was a good cook, would make a meal for their trouble. It used to tick me off, and I'd be embarrassed by it, so I'd slip them some money while the ex wife wasn't looking. but this kind of thing goes on all the time in that organization. I call it a "who can I use " syndrome that's imbedded in the cult thinking I believe

Flowerpetal Chad- Yes so true isn't it? I often wonder what some young ones do who when turning 18, and being given the ultimatem on staying in the witnesses or get kicked out of their home, if they have no support system to catch them, where do they turn, where do they go? Sobering thought for all! Peace out, Mr. Flipper

New Here, My Personal Story
by johannahw ini have thought off and on about the jws for years.
my little sister brenda converted about 30 years ago and raised two sons in the truth as she called it.
one boy, mason, is still being raised as a jw (he is 15) and my other nephew, aaron, left the organization on his 18th birthday.

Johanna- Mr. & Mrs. Flipper welcome you to this board! The fact that you didn't join the witnesses shows that you are a good and decent person!! Believe me!, Sincerely, Mr. Flipper P.S. You are among friends here, people care.

CoCo- I agree with one of the posters here who says buying 6 packs of chicken breasts help. Mrs. Flipper and I in our Raleys in our area get these breast fillets, a pack of 6 or 8 for at times $1.98 per pound. Sometimes a little more, but what a great barbeque! Have to try it sometime!, Peace out, Mr. Flipper
