  Did anyone hear about the experiment conducted a few years ago. It was reported in New Scientist...

  New Scientist vol. 170 issue 2287 - 21 April 2001, page 24

  Basically the gist is that a scientist - Andrew Newberg - got to do what we all dream of doing - getting a nun to inject herself with a radioactive tracer whilst deep in prayer !

  He was monitoring the brain activity when the nuns felt that they had "connected" with God.

  He also did this with a group of Buddhists as they meditated.

  The results showed that blood was restriced to the parts of the brain that control the ego.

  So basically, as the individual ego (I am) shut down, it allowed a connection with the greater "I AM".

  However, these results could also be used to show that a connection with God is merely a trick that the mind plays on us when it is deprived of oxygen.

  That's what's great - it is still a matter of faith !

  .. it must not be forgotten that back in the early 1900's the society taught that world war i was the beginning of the great tribulation and when wwi ended--that was the "unless those days were cut short no flesh would be saved" and it was the "these are the ones that come out of the great tribulation" as recorded by the apostle john in his revelation.

  when wwii started it was the great tribulation commencing again such that all of those jw's between the two world wars belonged to the great crowd.

  in 1968 at the peace on earth international convention, the society changed its teaching and made the great tribulation a yet future event.

  I asked him, "Do you know any members of the Great Crowd / Other Sheep?"

  Obviously he said yes.

  I asked him if he knew any that had died.

  Again he said yes.

  So... How can they have been "of the Great Crowd" as the Tribulation hasn't happened yet?

  Protests at our District Assembly Tomorrow

  i heard on tv this morning that a few will protest at our assembly which will be held in quebec city friday, saturday and sunday.. i heard that someone who lost a family member due to blood policy will protest in front of where the assembly will be held..... i'll try to find a link to this story... .

  Leolaia, the following info from the 1900 does seem to fit (as you said above). Especially as the place of birth is Waterloo Iowa - which tallies with the passenger list that gives you the 17th July 1876 date of birth.

  I have just gone round in circles and made the same discovery as Leolaia above ! Excelent table of comparative ages Leolaia !

  I can't believe how many different dates of birth Bonnie has ! She travelled with Rutherford on many voyages, so she is certainly the same Bonnie.
