Wet season, my city smells of rain. Love it, you know that smell of the first few raindrops on hot concrete?
Brinjen, I love that smell, doesn't happen hear too often though.
Also the smell just after a thunderstorm is amazing !

What does your city/town smell like??
by horrible life inwhile on vacation, we drove through amarillo.
the smell of cattle was everywhere.
for the citizens of amarillo, texas, that is the smell of money.. in my town, we have the nearby paper mill, weyerhaeuser.

CONVERSATION WITH MY JW SISTER LAST NIGHT......
by Mary inwell i guess this was a long time in coming, but yesterday afternoon, my family all got together and had a bbq at my parents' home.
when my parents left at around 6:00pm to drive my one non-dub sister home, my other sister and brother in law (former elder), stayed for a while longer.. we've never discussed my leaving 'the truth' a couple of years ago but she brought it up last night and we started talking about the religion.
everyone had been drinking but no one was drunk, so alot got said.

As to where to go from here... God only knows. I am also debating with a JW that doesn't believe many of the teachings. It is like banging your head on a wall !
Maybe ask her why she stays in Dubland ?
If it's for the "brotherly love", maybe showing her that it exsists outside of Dubland may help.
That is what I am trying - showing that the world outside the KH is not the same as JWs have been led to believe.
Any help ?

Point out biblical principles JW's omit to follow

"if you desire to be perfect," replied jesus, "go and sell all that you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have wealth in heaven; and come, follow me.".
i never heard elders ask jw's to reach out into their abundance and help poor jw's....have you?.

Glad you're here, but this can be a rough site for a born again Christian. We've had a few Christians who can more than hold their own - jgnat and littletoe especially, whom I love like kin - but most of 'em take quite an ass-kicking here.
it's only happened the once to me... I threw the last punch (in a loving Christian sort of way)

Yes the baptised JWs only number around 6 million and 16 million are those attending the memorial.

I forgot, "The Memorial" is the "annual boost the numbers event"
