The next day, with the publication of a WT, everyone who read the words about generation instantly no longer believed this. How did you feel about this?

  This is strange, I read that in 1995 they did away with the "generation" teaching, yet their website still says this, over 12 years later !

  Thus, all the features of the last days must take place within the lifetime of one generation, the generation of 1914. So some people who were alive in 1914 will still be alive when this system comes to its end. That generation of people is now very advanced in years, indicating that there is not much time left before God brings this present system of things to an end.

  as an acting president, what specific changes would you make to .

  the organization to make it more approachable, livable and attainable for the general population ?.

  I have to say that I would probably do the same as the leaders of the "Worldwide Church of God" did..

  They were a cult, but some of the "GB" studied and realised it. They approached "The Board" with their findings and decided to go public and apologise.

  They ended up selling most of their buildings and colleges. Lost about half (if I remember correctly) of their membership. Many became mainstream Christians along with the new org but some formed their own breakaway church and carried on believing all the old cult material.#

  at the sunday meeting, according to my trusted source, the speaker actually said that 'it is no longer years, nor months - yet weeks and days'.

  so they need you back, now!

  If they believe that then why are they bothering to change the format of the Watchtower from January ? Surely that is more than mere "weeks and days".

  Alpha- was Jesus showing Agape, when he called the Lying Clergy of his day (Pharasees) "Whitewashed Graves full of Vile Things"? When one lies and slanders God Himself, a True Christian WILL have Agape- caring for them as a fellow human being, and hoping they will change- but will HATE the evil things that person will do and say.

  You have just answered your own question. Cliche but "Hate the sin, love the sinner".

  I believe that he was showing agape. I believe that he was the embodiment of agape.

  Who knows if any of them changed their ways?

  Even the soldier at the cross became a believer as the sky darkened.

  with the global village now teaching evolution as an absolute fact, and the 'creation museum' making a mockery of the bible, any bible study should begin with this question!

  however, the biggest hinderence to learning truth is clinging to concepts we've accepted as 'truth' without being willing to take a closer look at other possibilities.. i ask that ridiculers have fun on other postings, so that it might be possible to enjoy comparing what we have learned, how we see things- and also share what we have found to be facts-truth!.

  (and i will not "count the time", as promised; that's unimportant to me, anyhow!).

  You forget, Alpha- that faith is not Blind Gillibility, but belief based on evidence & reason:

  Faith is Faith.

  Seeking out facts, figures and adding logic to it merely fulfils a human desire to feel comfortable about it.

  That is the difference in our Bibles with John 17:3 - "This means everlasting life..."

  Agape CANNOT be directed at a certain group. AGAPE is AGAPE.

  Agape = Unconditional Love - the moment that you start adding conditions to it, you are simple loving friends (and even the unbelievers do that, says Jesus)

  If you greet only your friends, what's so great about that? Don't even unbelievers do that? [Matthew 5:47 CEV]

  If you love only those people who love you, will God reward you for that? Even tax collectors love their friends. [Matthew 5:46]

  There really is no way at arriving at the destination of this "study"... if there were then it would render faith useless.

  It is a matter of faith.

  However, many other subjects that are discussed here are not a matter of faith.

  "Does the Watchtower speak for God?"

  "The truth never changes, but the teachings of the Watchtower do - why?"

  "Shouldn't people praise God through love rather than fear?"

  "Why so many meetings per week - is it scriptural ?"

  etc etc.
