I believe that "foreign-chappie" is a term that comes from the "Carry On" days, therefore it is British.
However, the PC Police ammended it to "Foreign National". So now no-one is offended.
From that, I deduce that the term "Foreign" wasn't offensive, but the term "Chappie" was ???
Anyway, the man that ran the place had a broken arm whilst I was there. I didn't do it.
There must be more to "this green and pleasant land" than sweets and drink ???
Stonehenge ???

Miss Midwich,
The last time that I was in Stratford Upon Avon, I remember visiting a sweet shop that still sold sweets by "the quarter".
I also found a shop that sold many different types of Whiskies in strange bottles - you chose the bottle then chose the contents.
Noni,
You might also want to explore an area called "The Norfolk Broads". Hire a boat for the day :-)

Flight are cheap at the moment.
Get over to Dublin and have a real pint of Guinness.
England...
Find yourself a nice seaside town and have some fish and chips (complete with a '99 ice-cream)
You can have afternoon tea at the Ritz quite cheaply. (Don't eat too many sandwiches - there are plenty of cakes to follow)
Just a few suggestions... I'll think of more if I can.
Sad Emo...
Re going to hell for not believing the dogma... Does she know about the practice of indulgences? That way, you could sin but if you paid money and belived the dogma, God would wipe your spiritual slate clean.
Maybe you could buy an indulgence... ???
correct me if i'm wrong, but i used to think that on one of the brooklyn bethel buildings there used to be a big sign saying, "read god's word the bible daily", or something along those lines.
well i went there recently and i saw a big sign saying, "read the watchtower and awake!
" not necessarily daily though, that was not specified.
That's okay, JWs can get their daily dose of the Bible by reading the "daily text" - that way they don't have to worry about the passage's context and can twist it to suit their own interpretation at the same time.
It's interesting to note what you say. Thanks
Maybe the Catholic Church has flip-flops too...

Nonbelievers Too Can Be Saved, Says Pope
Refers to St. Augustine's Commentary on Psalm 136(137)
VATICAN CITY, NOV. 30, 2005 (Zenit.org).- Whoever seeks peace and the good of the community with a pure conscience, and keeps alive the desire for the transcendent, will be saved even if he lacks biblical faith, says Benedict XVI.
The Pope made this affirmation today at the general audience, commenting on a meditation written by St. Augustine (354-430).
i was wondering... i have been avoiding someone on the phone for months.
i usually keep my cell phone off for days and weeks at a time.
but somehow whenever i do turn my phone on, i get a call within a couple of minutes.. now at first i thought it was just a coincidence.... but not anymore, it happens every time i turn on my phone.
There are ways...
I believe Nokia made a phone last year that will tell you is your caller has their phone on BEFORE YOU DIAL !! At least, that is if memory serves me well...
The other way is to send a text message with a receipt. When the recipient switches their phone on, you get a receipt.
Any use ?
Uh Oh...
I have been known to do things that way round on occaision. But generally, when the wine starts to taste "black", the whisky or brandy comes out.
On the subject of beer... have you tried a Guinness with a shot of port on top.
It's supposed to be a small glass of port (sherry glass) unside down in the glass, then filled with Guiness. As you drink, the port slowly releases into the glass, or else it becomes a depth charge for the last gulp !!
Not something that I do on a regular basis, but still needs to be tried all the same.
OMG! I love that Hungarian stuff! Good call AO! I think we could be friends.
I think we probably already are (sentimental moment, everyone pause, theme music starts, credits roll).
So, you are a whisky drinker too... how many glasses of wine, before the malt is opened ?
