Here's my take on the whole "once saved always saved". If you are truely saved, You give your life/heart to Jesus and submit to his will. You are living for him. It doesn't give you a free ticket to do whatever you want. If you think it's a free ticket to do whatever you want, are you REALLY saved?

It's hard to explain and for those that are still athiest to believe, but I felt the Holy Spirit speak to my heart. I fought it for some time and then visited some churches. I was saved last month. I'm now Baptist.

Just got a job offer!
by daniel-p ini am one happy clam!
just got a job offer at almost 10k over my current salary plus another 10k after 2 years.
it's with an agency that would afford me many more professional opportunities, transferability, and promotion potential, and, most importantly, provides excellent benefits and job security and comes at a time when i need an offer since my current company is closing soon.. also, one of the more awesome things is that this job is under the dod, so i can stick it to the watchtower!.

Disfellowshipped People Are A Bad Lot
by garyneal ina week prior to my wife being baptized she and i discussed the reasons why people are disfellowshipped.
she says that people are disfellowshipped because they simply want to live their lives the way they want to and no longer submit to god's will.
in other words, they want to do something that is immoral and goes against bible principles.

Jesus was disfellowshipped.
So true!!!! LOL I'm more Christian today as a disfellowshipped JW than when I was a good little JW.

I am a Baptist and I can gaurantee you we are nothing like the JW's!! The GB controls what material JW's can/should read and there are consequences if you do not obey. In the Baptist faith, you do not have that limitation. The only thing we discuss in our womens group is how you have to be careful what you do read because that is one way that Satan will infiltrate his lies. If there is something that you read that doesn't sound quite right, then it probably isn't. But, it's still your free will to choose your own material.
If that sign is for real, I think the Pastor is trying to convey the point that ones that are lost and that make their own decisions "free thinker" that is not according to God's laws, are following Satan. I don't think he is referring to what materials/books/publications you read.

Yiz, I know you are deaf but you are NOT disabled. You still have your physical health and can work. It seems so many in our society today just give up and rely on others or the government to save them instead of doing some hard work themselves and helping themselves. Now, I'm all for someone getting disability because they truely 100% cannot work, but I see way too many people getting help that really don't need it and then those that have a real need, get none. Yiz, I'm not saying your wife doesn't deserve it, I know in her condition she does need it, what I'm saying is you being her husband you also should provide someway/somehow. Just because you got layed off doesn't mean just give up. Like someone said there is all kinds of vocational training out there at little or no cost to you.
I just get really angry at those that throw their own little "pity party". I have been sick since I was 17. Was given 2 hrs to live once. Have had breast cancer, done 8 rounds of chemo, 6 surgeries, have a fistula for dialysis, in stage 5 kidney failure and on a transplant list. Yet, I work FULL time and have worked non stop full time since I was 17 without any help from the government. Again, I'm all for help, but think we should be willing to help ourselves in our situation first.
I hope you get the mess straightened out with her checks, but also hope you step up and try to help yourself as well.

Bible student with 8 kids turns down marriage proposal?
by QuestioningEverything ina woman who is studying/attending the kh where my mom goes has 8 kids.
the oldest is 15y and the baby is only 7 weeks old.
after studying for some time, she decided it would be morally right for her and the kids father to get married.

That's really sad!
The kids are going to suffer the most over this. Purps is right, after the love bombing stops and reality sets in, I can see her going into a deep depression. I never have understood why they think leaving your unbelieving mate is better than keeping the family union together! Especially since he doesn't oppose her.
*shakes head*
