I'm so happy for you & your hubby standing your ground the way you did. I'm sure those two elders left there with all that you said on their minds and they will be thinking of it, even if their JW conscience tells them not too.

i once called on a guy who invited us straight in...then told us he was "lazarus son of god.
" he had a cazy look in his eye, and would repeat this line every few minutes.
the brother with me was trying to "reason from the scriptures" that he in fact could not be lazarus...i just wanted to leave.
Me and my best friend at the time went to a door and the man peeked around the corner. He was completed naked; and sooooo gross!!! In the background the TV was on and he was watching porn. We just said "Uh, we see your are busy, we'll just come back some other time!" We turned around laughing our asses off and ran back to the car...classic!!

i am very curious, since i am myself trying to figure out where to turn to, if anywhwere.
(i am still debating if i am truly an atheist at heart and religion in general turns me off at least as of now) where have you turned to since you left the wt?
i would imagine that many people who became witnesses had spiritual needs (which is ironic why i am feeling atheist, lol) but have you gone to other churches, stopped going to church, become atheist, etc?

the im real hitmaker reveals he was never allowed to celebrate birthdays or christmases growing up - and even playing with other children was a problem for his strict grandparents, who helped raise him.. .
as a result, the rapper, real name jeffrey atkins, goes overboard when his children celebrate birthdays and special occasions.. .

I agree with this statment. I don't think that my childhood was f'ed up. My parents did they best they could and always provided for me and my sisters & brother. We never went without and got gifts and things all year long. But just being a witness kid is hard, and you do feel isolated and different from all other kids.
Burgertime...It does make since that that is how he came up with his MC name. Don't know if it is true or has that meaning though???

and i observed the big bad wolves were usually the elders.

" the co said, "so you are both not willing to meet with the elders..?".
Good for you Lady Liberty!!!
I'm sure they were surprised when you stood your ground and refused to meet with them. They think that all should crumble to their authority!
