2008 study WT will be confiscated from non-publishers

the literature servant told me that their instructions are to only give one study wt per publisher starting with the january 1st, 2008 issue.

under no circumstances are they to provide any other copies (if lost or whatever, much like kms are provided now).

any guests attending the wt study will be provided a copy, but then the servant who gave them the copy must confiscate it after the meeting.

One reason they may be picking them back up may be because all the study articles for the month are in one issue. If they only got a few extras then it would be difficult to have enough every week. There are some jws that lose or forget theirs every meeting. My wife has brought the wrong magazines a few times, I just get any magazine and look like l am a zealous jw. I discovered that it doesn't make much difference If you have the right magazine anyway, it all sounds the same.

Some of jws make a big deal out of everything, and others could care less, just depends on which congregation you are in.

usually, i enjoyed the public talk, if the speaker was good but i thought the theocratic ministry was boring!!!.

the service meeting was just a sales meeting.

the book studies were simply ridiculous.

The question to me is like this, having both your eyes poked out with a red hot poker and then being asked which one hurt the most.The meetings to me were just a type of torture.

New light re: baptism?

i heard rumors that "new light" is coming re: baptism.. it seems that those who got baptised without inner conviction or real dedication and / or cooled off afterwards, could get re-baptised.. anyone else heard something similar?.

They would probably love to rebaptise everyone that was not baptised under the new rules, dedicating yourselves to the organization.

i found a pice of sublimnal art as a dubbie i'm shocked!

you guys this has really freaked me out so much tonight as i was looking though my revelation book climax at hand i was looking to see where we had left off and i usually do this by seeing where i have stopped highlighting in the book.. so i started at pg 156 & 157 of the book so there were a bunch of marks on those two pages their are pics nothing special there.. but on page 159 their is a pic of jesus in the heavens where he is extending his handout to get a piece of paper and that's where i notice on the hand that were the wrinkles are supposed to be there is a face like a fetusnow i mean anybody can tell you that is a face of a baby.

i don't know why a baby on jesus hand or what it suppose to mean.

i guess it really shows how the control tower (watchtower) make me a jw feel really shitty.

I think freedomfrog has the right idea. It is a way of rebellion. The artist know that those above them do not edit this stuff. Some people in the know have pointed out that alot of stuff gets through to the people without editing. That is why two pieces of literature may contradict one another.

I have always made cartoon quips out the pictures. I show them to wife and she can't keep from laughing and has to go out side. All my study books and magazines were full of my doodles, art, and jokes. I have some good stuff even if I say so myself. It is one of the ways I kept myself sane for two hours. And my little way of showing my opinion of the material.

I doubt there is any sinister purpose behind any of it. The literature is looney enough.

The artists can even deny they are doing this on purpose because the society says it is just coincidence. The artist are probably having a good laugh.

There are some very good artists who do this kind of deliberate hidden art. I have a collection of very good ones from the internet. It takes a unique talent to be able to do this.

Art has been my passion scince I was 5 years old, 55 years ago. My specialty is realistic art. My work is very detailed to give the impression of real photos. Just speaking for myself there is no way that I would have done that work and not seen anything so obvious. I shown this picture to my hardcore witness wife and she finally admit that is what it looks like. Most artists that I am familiar with take pride in their work whether good or not. When you work on a piece like this one you are paying attention to detail. I don't see how you could miss something so obvious. The artist definitely intended this to be there. The hand is not normal, and the two finger thing is not the way you would put out a helping hand to someone, just my opinion of course. When painting landscapes you can make many broard features such as clouds, trees, water, etc. with an assortment of brushes and so could create some feature that you might see immediately but detailed paintings are different. I will admit I have a pretty good imagination and I do take that into consideration when I see these things. I have seen these things in the jw artwork for many, many years and at first I just attributed it to my imagination but came to realize that some of it was just too clear to ignore.

There are many pictures that some have shown on the internet that I just see either. I thing you really have to stretch the imagination to see some of them. It is true that some people see what they want to see. But there are some classic artwork by the jws that just can't be ignored. The one that is popular is the picture in a frame on the table by the lady sitting in a chair, which by the way the society later removed.

Who knows, maybe it takes someone with an artists eye and an imagination to actually see this stuff.

I always thought the magazines were just plain boring. In the past few years I started paying more attention to what was being written and realized more and more how poorly written they really are. I always felt that the watchtower would not make any sense to anyone but jws. The society says you need them to understand the bible, but in reality you do need them to decipher their literature and after they do it still does not make any sense. The watchtower is a repetition of the same thing ever year. I told my wife that you don't need to keep getting new watchtowers just keep using an old one.

My favorite magazines were science digest, mechanics illustrated, readers digest and the comic books. I am 61 and still enjoy the comics.

so many nut cases are JW's

i have seen so many jw's that are fruit loops, i'm not meaning clinical depression or mental illness, many are just balmy, they seem to be off tap.

i would estimate that 1 in 4 are off their head.

disruptive behaviour and trouble makers, gossipers and out right rude, so many seem to have problems out of the normal, many i find are backward, maybe that is the one way street of indoctinization.. what experiences have any had..

Being a looneytoon is in the eyes of the beholder. In the eyes of jws anyone that questions the society is a looneytoon. Being a looneytoon is being different from what is considered normal. If you had a group of looneytoons they would consider each other normal. Some people that are looneytoons don't mind being in a group of people who considred themselves normal. If you are a looneytune and don't want to be thought of as being a looneytoon then you should only associate with other looneytunes. The problem arises when a group of looneytunes consider someone in their group a looneytune then you just have a kettle calling a pot black. It just goes on and on , so I think I better quit before I am considered a looneytune, or is that too late.

JWs Do NOT Care About Getting Converts. They Really Don't!

if jws really cared about making disciples they would never use outdated ways to get their "lifesaving message" across.

knocking on doors, knowing that most people aren't at home, is simply a waste of time.

driving around from one part of town to the other side in order to stretch your time, while doing return visits is simply a way to not reach people as quickly as possible.

They keep doing the door to door with the jws because they are the ones who buy the literature. Can you imagine trying to push the literature over the t.v. or internet on a donation basis.

I don't know about other jws but at the end of the year I had a wheelbarrow load of magazines left over. Even when the householder took the magazines I never got any money. I finally convinced my wife to take only the bare minimum.

Can you imagine the amount of literature in the trash, laundramats, thrift stores and jws bookshelves, etc.

The two elders that paid me their token visit admitted they didn't read all the articles in the magazines and not even the magazines most of the time, they looked a little stupid when I had to read the articles on the new light to them. They had the nerve to ask me what new light? I found that most jws don't read this crap so why do they think anyone else would.

Something I have wondered is how much good their site on the internet really does. Has it actually converted anybody?

did you ever feel that way when you were in "the truth"?

i hated that people tried to overstep the normal boundaries humans have with strangers and get all "brotherly and encouraging".

when we changed congregations, i found it so annoying when people we barely knew tried to act as if we were best friends.

Beware of strangers bearing gifts.. I learned many many years ago not to trust anyone that is overly friendly and tries to take control of you. I do feel for some people who are nice people that just can't be unfriendly to people. I found that saying no and meaning no will make your life easier. When someone puts that kind of pressure on you it upsets you mentally.

In some of these cases it sounds like the so called brother, elder, etc. has other motives.

When Meetings Went Overtime, What Did You Do?

i used to start looking at the clock behind me, look at my watch, look at the speaker or person handling the part and give obvious facial expressions expressing my dissatisfaction.

it was a pet peeve of mine!

a few times when i had the last part in a service meeting, i'd say, rather sternly,"this originally was a 15 minute part but because we are running out of time, we will dispense with (whatever).".

Years ago when a couple of elders were at my home I told them to please end thier meetings on time, that they had their 2 hours alloted to them to bore me and they weren't allowed any more than that, then I read them several articles stating such. Our meetings now end on time.

In the old days I just got up and walked out on time, If they are not polite enough to obey the time rules, I am not polite enough to stay.

Why is it that the most boring speakers and conductors are the most long winded, you would think they would bore their own selves to death , or their own family members would clue them in.
