My cousins look after the trolly work in the city and they place 1000s of prieces of literature every month. Although the trolly work is mainly done by pioneers, most publisherss dont like it and think it's a waste of time. Practically every service meeting has an item about getting more involved in this aspect of service.

by steve2 inthreads on the newer jw face of public "witnessing" have shared in common the astonishment that jws safely park themselves behind their literature trolleys and exercise incredibly little contact with passersby.
whether the poster is talking about europe or the united states or australia, descriptions here are the same.. literature stands are protective sheilds behind which jws huddle, talking to each other, sipping on their espressos, whilst the disinterested world passes by.
neither the jws nor the passersby catch each others eyes.

Witnesses called for a bible study

yesterday was a really interesting, unnerving experience though.
two sisters had called last week when i had an abscess on my tooth and was sort of sick from it.

They can't, my wife and I are currently aux pioneers and I have started refusing to go from door to door with literature. Instead I've been offering to listen to people need someone to talk too.
We can't hold our own without the books to do our talking for us.

Why am I here on this site? Why have I lost my faith in this version of Christianity? It's simple. I was raised by two very abusive parents. A MS dad and a pioneer mother. I as beaten, emotionally blackmailed and treated like an enemy. As I grew older I told the elders what was happening. They Blamed me for not been Christ like and forgiving. I then ran into elders in another congregation that falsified reports when the CO came round amongst other stuff. I then started to think that any religion that claims to be 100% right and EVERYONE else is 1000% wrong isn't Christian but arrogant and haughty. I looked things up on JWFACTS. Then I saw the truth... Its all a lie. But I am married to happy JW wife, lads of JW family. I can't leave..... Ever! -

Yes that's right. Social media was a big no no and some elders made a pretty big deal of it if you were found using it. There was a Watchtower article about 3-4 years ago that said it was OK in moderation. It well upset loads who were against the evil satanic media sites. -

In depth research reveals....
by Deltawave insomething i have noticed over the years is how much harder it is to research the history of the watchtower society from its own literature.
people have thrown away old publications in place of the watchtower library.
i beleive soon the watchtower library disk will be discontinued in place of the online library.

Something I have noticed over the years is how much harder it is to research the history of the Watchtower society from its own literature. People have thrown away old publications in place of the Watchtower library. I beleive soon the Watchtower library disk will be discontinued in place of the online library. The GB don't seem to want people to be able to keep track of what's been said when. Especially in this modern technology driven age where what they say can be researched, referenced and quoted back to them.
I would like to start a study of what what published as "truth" and compare it to what is taught now. Has anyone got any good photocopies or Watchtower references that I can look up too speed up my project??
