Ros, I am not trying to debate this topic because I have not reached a conclusion on it myself. But I would like to know how a Christian can say that Jesus was deified. If we do not accept the trinity and we say Jesus is a god but a different god than his father, doesn't that mean you worship two gods? Aren't there scriptures which say there is only one true god? Aren't there scriptures which say that we are to worship God alone and that he will not share his glory with another. It just seems that we have to say it is wrong to worship Christ, as JWs say, or say that Jesus is, somehow in some way that we can't quite comprehend, the same God as his father. How do you answer such questions? Again, I'm not debating. The fact is I would like to be able to take a middle road myself but can't find one.

Micheal the ArcAngel/Jesus the man
by plmkrzy ini understand that a lot believe that micheal and jesus are one in the same some believe that jehovah and jesus are one in the same some believe that one is the son of god yadda yadda yadda.. would some of you please address or post your reasons for believing that micheal the arc angel was not gods first creation and why he couldn't be the one sent to us to be born as a man and become our savyor?
why would he not have another name fitting his role as a man on earth?
he obviously wouldn't be living on earth as a child growing up as an angel.

Yadirf:
I understand you, I think. So, Michael never ceased existing. He simply had his existence transferred into the preborn Jesus, at the moment of conception, I presume. But please tell me, when Jesus died was Michael/Jesus totally nonexistent for three days? If so, when he was resurrected was his resurrection then actually a total recreation? If so, how can it be said that the recreated Michael/Jesus was the same Michael/Jesus that had died and not just a copy of the old Michael/Jesus?
In other words, if Michael/Jesus totally ceased to exist at the time of his death, and there was no continuity of existence between the old Michael/Jesus and the newly recreated Michael/Jesus, how can you say that the newly recreated Michael/Jesus was the same Michael/Jesus as the Michael/Jesus whose existence completely ended at the time of his death?

Fred,
I take it that is your impersonation of the Watchtower Society's Governing Body.

How can the JWs switch their interpretation of "the King of the North" to now be Muslims, without admitting that their previous interpretation of prophecy was wrong? And if it was wrong, how do they maintain credibility when it comes to all their other prophetic interpretations? I know, I know. The average rank and file JW will welcome such "new light" with great excitement, and see it as strong evidence that we are now closer to the end than ever before, and offer it to others as proof that the "Faithful and Discreet Slave" is humble enough to admit its past mistakes. "Unlike the clergy of Christendom."

KM article "How Will They Hear?"
by DB inperhaps this topic has already been addressed, but at last night's service meeting we discussed an article in the kingdom ministry (jan 2001) called "how will they hear?".
it dealt with the fact that there are perhaps billions worlwide who have not yet been witnessed to.
the articel mentioned that the jws "trust in jehovah" (i guess its always the case when they have no answers) that those people, mostly concentrated in asia (especially china and the sub-continent) will have their hearts read by god and that he will know who are righteous and who are not.

>>>>>God could read their hearts too ... but no, he makes Noah build a great big Boat ... piss poor engineering design ... Oh man ... the more I look at this stuff, the more it sounds like we were hoodwinked by lunatics.
Amazing: You are turning into a very sorry sight. You go from a man who was supposedly an anointed Christian to a man who now not only questions the existence of God but ridicules the words of scripture. I wonder what your Christian children would think of you.

Piety????
by wonderwoman77 ini am reading a book called "the blessings of imperfection: reflection on the mystery of everyday life" by peter fleck and he makes some remarkable statements about piety and believing there is only one answer to spiritual and religious beliefs.
he says "pietism can also be expressed in the relationship between the individual and other individuals, that is as adams puts it with the other saints, with the chosen few, chosen by me, those who think as i do, live as i do, who are well clad and fed as i am, who do not disturb my inner harmony with questions of justice, equality, and freedom.
theirs is a relationship of partiality against with james warns 'if you show partiality, you commit sin.

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)
So, WW, if you are right about there being different paths to God, then Jesus was wrong. If, on the other hand, Jesus was right and you are wrong, you can share passages of your book with Him on Judgment Day. For your sake, I hope He will be impressed.

The Bible tells us that being able to properly interpret prophecy is a gift from God. With the attitude you just expressed I highly doubt He has given you that gift. That makes all of your interpretations highly suspect.

Ladonna: I am not a JW. I am a long time Ex. My screen name is meant to imply that I am faithful to God, rather than to an organization of men. But it is seldom understood that way. So I ought to change it.
Scully: So, just because I accept the Bible's definitions of what is right and wrong behavior for people to engage in, I am an "ignorant, judgemental, know-it-all, bigot"? The Bible tells us that sexual relationships outside of marriage are wrong. Why? One reason is because people often end up getting hurt by them. As evidence that this is the case, I will refer to the pain which WW admits she and her former lover are now both experiencing.
