each time i have a new pet, i just can't find a good name.
luckily my mom gave my cat her name and i like it.. now how would you call this critter if it was yours?.

well, this poor little crearute looks a little crazy. In my experience, men named "Norman" or "Arthur" tend to be a little crazy. So I would go with one of those!
As for how I name a pet: I agree with LovesDubs. I always did that too! I also like to give it a name that reflects how I came about having it or what is resembles to me.

my jw mother told me this joke today.
i think it's very funny and so did she.. a woman had always wanted a parrot, but when she went to buy one, she learned they were about $5000.
the clerk at the pet store told her he had one parrot that was $500 but there was a drawback.

i have a friend that has left the witnesses but the mindset is still in his head.
it affects the way he views life and his future the years he has left.like the world is so bad he can't find a place for himself in it a future to invest in.
he is thinking of going back to them they offer the only solution that he can relate to wipe it out ( harmageddon ) and start again its like he needs reprogramming to enjoy life
Absolutely, this is not an easy task either (reprogramming). and it won't necessarily be a quick one either. A lot of reminding needs to be done as was mentioned and a lot of support. what worked for me was total bombardment with the information and when I felt I couldn't take anymore the person bombarding me just pushed harder. this may not be necesary in your friends case but keep it in mind just in case. to me there is a definite difference in my generation and the one coming after me, when i graduated you basically had three choices.
military, college or a fulltime job which meant more than 40 and you were expected to grow up, today kids are seen as postponing this for years, it reminds me of the proverbs 29:21 kjv says .

i was reflecting having read someone's thread about blowing off non jw family that actually it would have been so much better if i had a larger family, preferably not completely jw saturated and this random train of thought led me to thinking that if i could choose i would be catholic, because then i would have a huge family, go to really nice gothic churches with lots of candles and tortured saints and be able to go to confession (instead of lt's mobile).
also the colours of the whore of babylon always were a lot more enticing to me than the mild blues and undistracting beiges of the khs.. i think we all have religions which would suit our personalities so much better.
I see a lot of talk about judaism and different sects of christianity. No mentions though of the fastest growing religion in the world ... Islam!!! Why is that?
