Stay or leave your spouse after leaving JWs - Do you have regrets?
by Awakened at Gilead ini am in a situation that many of you have faced... whether to stay with my spouse or not after having learned the falsehood of the org.. my wife is diehard witness who gets upset whenever i talk about the org negatively.
she is not happy that i am on jwd... in fact the other day she picked up the keyboard and wanted to throw it accros the room or bash me with it when she saw i was on jwd... she is also very upset about me making friends with "apostates" and worldly people, and told me never to bring them to our home!
this concerns me, since i am not going to have any friends in the org, and i need at least a few friendships...she doesn't want me to talk to the friends in the cong about my decision so that i don't share my doubts.

please understand that i am not an oprah fan - never have been - i am mostly non-polarized, ambivalent, in my opinion of the lady.
but this vehicle - designed to discredit her - makes me want to see more - not of the critics point of view - but of oprah's.

I am shocked - is my first reaction!
I never heard of this or looked into it or came across it!
Oddly it parallels with some of my natural evolution of 'feeling' during the last few incredibly depressive and soul numbing years.
The parallel is only in what I feel matters from within and can feel sure about from within = which is very little, but releases fears and all manner of concerns! But it is not easy to unpick all the luggage in ones head from a lifetime of dogma from various sources and parenting.
Essentially I have reservations due previous disasters with 'global' models for spirituality:
Firstly it is born out of Christian fundamentalism! This in itself does not render it void!
In fact, maybe it could be born out of Muslim values or Hindu or Buddhist etc etc - and that to me would be something I would want to explore in seeing how universal this spirituality is! Culturally specific new light may contain inherent inequalities.
Something about it strikes a chord in how it deals with the inner selfs sorta American Indianisms - natural synchronisations with nature and life!
I find it most intriguing and something to explore.
It seems a worthwhile focus in self synchronisation ergo self enlightenment about what one may feel or not feel about what one is to oneself and nature!
I had a similar experience on looking at Wicca = most enlightening and valuable in ways I'm noy yet sure about since I just dipped in for the first time in DEC07.
I will look further at this - interesting stuff.

Excuse my indulgence! And yes I would love it - worth wallowing in pity for IMO lol!
Basically I stand by my hunch that some souls have a negative cycle on a roll in avenues and alleyways of their lives healthwise, emotionally, sexually, financially, socially, and family wise and realtime though I'll stop there cuz i don't wish to sound pessimistic. I see why some are reclusive and blamed for being so!
Are they more or less likely to ever get true friends?
This is the equation of my interest!

I have a reality which gives me a perception that in spite of my sincerest long term wrestling with various relationships and changes with a heart of best intentions, has resulted in a domino rally of negative outcomes!
So then I wondered to myself about the extent to which this is also a feature of others lives?
And how likely it is that some are far worse than my known reality!
And how people will treat you in negative ways because your reality is in decline?
It is a fact I have witnessed 10 fold and beyond!
Inuendo is highly concentrated and a negation on ones holistic energies!
John Lennon talked of the slow death of the Beatles and how once everyone perceived a demise, society does its thing - which is the bull in the ring scenario - the slow death until they kick or run in the steel!
The inuendos are reverse for success - rallying into euphoria!
This is what I speak of!
So when I post a thread intending to address an observablke reality, humanity is inclined to ask itself why - and draw conclusions about my motives, appearance and state of mind prior to ever entering into a serious consideration of the facts of the observable reality put up for debate! If you see?
And I am aware also, that ones with this knowledge experience, will have times when they behave more like the 'broken human' that gives them such insights - so furthering the likelihood that they will be taken less seriously when they are in fact fully functioning - which they soon become aware of and tend to question why they ever bother to become functionally engaging and trusting others with their own experiences!
I think we have a situation where if your reality is an 'end game' of some positives - you tend to expect others to have similar inner equities - and my hunch is that for some this is a misnoma and since ones in charge are usually possessing 'positives', they are reluctant to concede such a scenario as plausible.
My hunch was that it may be a reality for some who live in who knows what space in time?
