The word Canada comes from the word Kanata (Mohawk) meaning, town/village. People who live and are born in Canada don't realize they are village people !!!!! I'm from Kahnawake.

What if she hadn't eaten the fruit?
by michael downing inbased solely on whats available in the genesis account, what would happen if eve had not eaten the fruit but had continued a relationship with the "serpent" in perpetuity questioning god's motives?
would she be punished for this exercise of free will?.
i ask the question because my personal belief is that if the genesis account is in fact allegory, then what comes after it should be awarded no more acknowledged efficacy that what we prescribe to aesop, confucius or any other pragmatic, non-theistic value-set that has survived history .

1st Anniversary

Why am I telling you this true story? Because of a wonderful person that I met that has had a positive effect on my life. Over a year ago, my awesome wife passed way, she had melanoma. We would have been married 44 years in just a few months time. The family and my wife knew that in the course of time I would have another women in my life. In fact, she was the one who brought up the subject. I never expected events to turn so quickly for me. Yes, I did meet another women.
Last night, this new women and I celebrated our first anniversary. Here's how it all happened. A year ago, my son, friends and I went to play golf out of town. On the way home, my son said, dad, we're not taking you home, instead, we're going directly to the casino. (Montreal) It was first my trip to the Montreal casino, so I didn't mind. While there, I sat at the bar while my son and friend played the slot machines. As time passed, I noticed a women sitting alone and I was curious as to why she was by herself. I approached her and started a conversation. I quickly noticed this women having a different dialect, which caught my interest. I asked what nationality she was, and she said, Lebanese, she by the way speaks five languages. Shortly after, my son and friend came along and said we had to go because they had no more money to play, mind you, this even after giving them some of my money. Since I had to leave, I asked this lady if I could have her phone number which she obliged. In the course of our outings I've come to learn that that we are "born in the same month, same year, and we we're married in the same year and our oldest offspring is the same age ". Also interesting is, she wasn't suppose to be at the casino that evening. Her date with a female friend cancelled, so, she decided to go the casino. Why the casino? Because, she had been taking care of her husband for 10 years due to his sickness, and he always requested to go to the casino. That evening, that's what crossed her mind.
I've told this story to my firneds and they're all just amazed. What's the coincidence of meeting someone like I did with so many things in common? Any ways, we celebrated our first anniversary last night. I thought my story would be something different, if it isn't, let me know. -

Women and Men....Can they be 'just good friends'........
by fifi40 ini regularly talk to a poster on this board via the pm system...............mainly because i like his mind.......today he suggested in reply to something i had said that basically men and women dont do friendship.........he asked the question 'why do people even bother with each other if they dont fancy each others intimacy?
'...............not that he was suggesting this about us.........but i am just wondering what you lot think.. it has been my experience to have some wonderful men friends...........i love mens company and their conversation..........now i am wondering if all those 'mates' were/are after something else............well not really........i am pretty sure at least some of them arent.. so whats your view/experience.........can men and women just be good friends.. oh and to my friend who i pm.........this is not a criticism of you.........i am interested in what others experiences are..........and i will give you a big kiss (on the cheek) one day when i see ya to make up for it.......... fi.
