  My first week here ...thoughts

  i have been hear for about a week now, and have not been is such a strange mental place since i was a witness.

  it has been good, the programming still kicks in however, but i'm getting less and less afraid to reason with it.

  i got my coc book yesterday.... i sat looking at it and thinking of all the years i avoided it, mischaracterized and marginalized it, w/out having any specific knowledge of what was actually in it.

  japan since the 1970''s has had amazing publisher increases!

  every year the number of witnesses shot up by many thousands.

  this peaked in 1998, since then the number of witnesses and congregations has continued to drop!.

  Grace Paley Died This Week

  writer grace paley passed away a couple of days ago, and terri gross is doing a tribute to her on today's fresh air program on npr.

  it brings back a couple of memories.

  i met grace at a writer's conference up at dartmouth college a few years ago, and she and i and another woman went out to eat and walk and talk afterward, and then a year or two after that i met her again at a reading here in the town where my office is.

  MSNBC Catches Pedophiles On Camera

  every monday night starting 10pm, msnbc along with authorities trap pedophiles who have made internet arrangements to have sex with under-age children are filmed and exposed to the public.

  this passed monday night, they arrested 21 pedophiles making such arrangements.

  the one that caught my interest was the pedophile having to travel 350 miles (one way) to have sex with a teenager!

  Par. I agree that justice is not served, however, as one poster said, it gives her child something to think about and that is, who can be trusted? I watched a program about 'helpful' truckers (18 wheelers) and some of them no longer want to stop and help others because they've been take advantage of. Who says this system is OK?

  the jws are always grumbling that former jws are trying to "destroy their faith" and that they have nothing nice to say about the men who write for the watchtower or their peculiar teachings.. but then---jws go to people's homes and try to convince them that they should stop:.

  Right on PatientBro. The Nation of Israel as a whole disregarded the laws and blessings of their God. Even though their sins may have been of scarlet color, he would forgive them. Isa.1:16-18

  Many of their well known Kings went sour such as David & Solomon. How about the selfish Kings who practiced child sacrifice which was an abomination to their God? Nothing has changed through history when it comes to persons wanting to exercise their selfish wills, NOTHING!
