  What is your relationship with ALCOHOL?

  here in the uk new drinking guidelines have been issued which suggest "no more than 14 units a week - equivalent to six pints of beer or seven glasses of wine.".

  another piece of the advice which is getting a lot of attention is that "if people drink, it should be moderately over three or more days and that some days should be alcohol-free.".

  already people are making cries of "nanny state!

  In my teen years I had a problem with alcohol , then I found the "truth" which helped me curb it.

  Then I learnt how to control my drinking habits using a technique I discovered .

  I became a very moderate drinker while being a witness

  Since leaving over 20 years now I drink much more , nearly everyday , a couple of beers then a few wines , without getting drunk .

  If there is a power struggle going on within the G.B.with the resultant changes & the G.B. are prepared to lose some members during this transitional stage ,by all accounts it seems the ones they are losing are the ones they can least afford to lose , like Elders , MS , Pioneers , etc., the average R&F member is just simply not up to the task to step in and do the work , with the dumbing down of the religion in recent decades , it`s a complete joke that they refer to themselves as Bible Students .

  ok so most of you guys know already that i am going through the reinstatement process for my parents but i do have a partially sinister plan which i will not mention here since someone told me that there are b-lites that read boards like this.

  last night and it was the funniest experience i have ever seen.

  besides that the brother doing the sound and video screwed up the whole thing when showing the videos and it took 3 brothers to fix it after 10 minutes, the whole thing was a joke.

  Hello, this is my first post

  hello, this is my first post, i would like to introduce myself and say thank you to every one on this forum, you have been a lifeline to me these last few years.. i had been a jw for 30 years when i walked away a few years ago disgusted by the treatment victims of child abuse, domestic abuse and rape receive from the wtbts.. at first i thought it was a local problem, elders personal opinions, the way they handled the situations, imperfect men etc., until i checked out jehovahs witnesses and child abuse/domestic abuse online.

  that's when i realized they had the same modus operandi worldwide.

  that led me here, tbuo this forum, and then to crisis of conscience, jw facts, watchtower documents, jw survey, old watchtower literature and cd s, reading a couple of steve hassans books, and more recently exiting the jw cult.. the feelings of shock, betrayal, anger at the wtbts, angry with myself for being so gullible, depression, reflection, loneliness, have taken their toll.

  in about 1980 i came to know of and meet one time with lawrence onoda, ph.d., a jehovah's witness psychologist [also i think elder] in southern california.

  i was shocked to know there was such a thing in view of the wts traditional stance against jws consulting such a person!

  he had been one of jws for six years at that time, i recall.

  hi everybody, 1st post here.

  20 years jw, elder for 6 years, regular pioneer for 3 years, have always been following the 2012 candace conti abuse case with much interest, especially since the case suddenly disappeared from www.watchtower.com's news section (thanks brother j. r. brown, office of public information, because it led me to "worldly" websites for more info), leading to more and more dissatisfaction , leading to jwfacts, jwsurvey, ad1914, wtdocuments etc., leading to my awakening about 4 months ago, now fading faster and faster to zero meetings and zero field service...and you know what?

  it feels good!.

  a month from custody trial for my little girl.

  i fight the anxiety every moment.

  reading all of your posts has, i believe, kept me from losing it.

  On the one hand , they are continually asking for more contributions from the R&F , it`s not enough that they have forgiven loans to Congregations and then asked the same Congregations to pledge that same amount or even more to H.Q.in the USA .for evermore .

  On the other hand , they have a Real Estate Office selling prime real estate in Brooklyn for millions of dollars that is going to total more than a Billion $$$$$$ .Coupled with the fact they are also selling off K.H`s and asking the R&F to share other K.H.`s further away at more expense for the congregants in travel ,fuel , and time .

  And how many Branch Officers have been closed down and sold in recent years , the reduction in printing costs , smaller mags , the lay offs of Bethelites , etc.etc.,

  Where is all this money going is the question I wouId be asking the Society .

  The confidential letter that the A.R.C. received ,addressed to the B.O.E. in Australia from the Branch Office in Nov 2015 , regarding Legal and Financial people was very telling.

  The writing is on the wall for the WTB&TS , not only here in Australia but worldwide.

  Of course it may be a slow death taking a few more years , but death is assured as a Religious organization .with Tax free Not For Profit & Charitable privledges .

  this is a rant mainly in response to my wife's reaction to the stupid clam meeting last night.

  bear in mind, while i am not sexist, i am also not politically correct.

  .... it is no secret that the women in this organization outnumber the men.

  I agree , the majority of women I knew in the religion could not ,would not , think for themselves , every little thing was what does the W,T,say about this , Bro. Elder what should I do about this
