  When you Go to Bethel, You Sign Over Your Dead Body.

  this is in response to the thread about the supposed suicide of a bethelite in 1995.. when i went to bethel i and everyone else, signed a form stating that "if we died while at bethel the wathtower bible and tract society,had the right to keep our body.".

  yes, we thought it strange at the time but as a twenty years old you didn't think much about stuff like that.

  besides we were never going to die anyway.

  I thought the official position with the Governing Body of Jehovah`s Witnesses , was that they did not have a Clergy laity class. Full stop.

  I`m going back about 50 years now .

  And I agree fully with Scully regarding the Sacramental Confession does not apply to Jehovah`s Witnesses as her/his post points out .

  The confessor is one person , the priest is one other person , and no other human hears this confession.

  With JW`S a confession may be made to one Elder , however it will then be brought to another Elders attention and then a Judicial Committee is formed involving another three Elders to investigate further what has been disclosed .

  Stepping out of the shadows

  i have been lurking on the site for a few months and thought it about time i plucked up the courage to step out of the shadows and say hello.. i am in the process of fading after realizing all is not right with the organization i had trusted implicitly for over 40 years.

  there have always been 'truths' i have struggled to accept entirely, even as a child, but was confident that trusting in jehovah, building my faith and remaining patient would be enough to settle any nagging doubts that remained, so i pushed any inconsistencies to the back of my mind and concentrated on being the best witness that i could be.. over the last few years, however, i have been preoccupied with a number of crises in my family and stepping back slightly from 'theocratic' activity has allowed me to re evaluate a number of concerns and research sources other than the sanitized wt publications.. my eyes are now wide open - i found things which have appalled me and left me feeling extremely let down and disappointed by people i had really trusted.. i tried gently raising a few subjects with my mum (who was baptized early '70s and still remains a staunch wt supporter) but she will hear no criticism of the organization.

  i understand this because the best part of her life has been invested in the religion and to acknowledge it may have got things wrong would be to recognize the last 40 years have been a vain waste.

  Seeking advice doctor & staff presentation

  my son is nearing completion of his 3-1/2 year chemo journey.

  i have an appointment with his primary oncologist at the end of next month as an end of treatment exit meeting.

  she and her team are leads at this particular hospital.

  First off , I hope your son is responding positively to his treatment and that you and your wife are coping with the situation.

  My 2 cents worth with your proposal would be to align yourself with people who have expertise in this field, such as Kerry Louderback-Wood ,who wrote an Article :"Jehovah`s Witnesses Blood Transfusions and The Tort Of Misrepresentation " in Medical Journals and has been active in giving presentations.

  Also the work done by Bill Bowen `s site that highlights the inconsistency`s of the JW blood policy doctrine , rather than trying to start something on your own , add your support to some who have a bit of clout in what they do , and together you may accomplish more.

  I wish you luck in whatever decision you make.

  The Demons were messing with me last night!

  so said my pops one morning.

  we were visiting my sister in eastern tennessee and the night before after everyone else went to bed pops was watching tv when all of a sudden and completely on it's own the tv changed to the tonight show, holy smokes!!

  must be demons cause pops didn't change it!

  Sleep paralysis , seems to be an evident explanation for me , I had these experiences , pre -teen and into my early teen years , and nothing after that .

  Pre-teen was the most frightening , but why did I not say anything to my parents ? about these episodes ?

  Was I afraid of being labelled a nut case ? Insane ? maybe both,

  Funny I have never told anybody about these experiences before

  How common is this ?

  I have had a similar experience where elders tried to intimidate me with a situation .In my case it was 'leave it in Jehovah`s hands " "trust the organization to do the right thing " and so forth .trying to shut me down.

  My response ? I want the names of you elders , and I will make a complaint to the Branch Office about you.

  ( I`m in Australia )

  I will also make a formal complaint about you to the Governing Body in America stating the circumstances , naming you as individuals in this case .

  The result : Pardon the expression they shit themselves , Above all else they do not want there name with a black mark on it with the G.B. , they will bend over backwards to avoid that

  The result I got was better than even I expected .

  So trust me use this tactic , as well as making it public in the media to them ( even if you don`t want to they don`t have to know ) threaten them with it , if there names are going to be published , either in the media or within the Branch Office or the G.B. they have a panic attack , and will back down .
