  Maybe that`s something Simon can do on the home page under " Entertainment" or "Social" and include the "Arts " in it`s various forms , where these contributions could be made .

  Because of the very nature of this site , ex JW`s , I never really thought about contributing along those lines as not being JW related .

  And while I always appreciated compound complex posts , I also had the feeling it was out from left field ?

  I am more familiar with contributions about music and films , but , why not Art , Literature ,Poetry ,Classics , Etc.

  Thank you compound complex for this post , I hope we as contributors can expand our knowledge on all things that make us human .

  Maybe 2 other lines of thought could be brought in here .

  Maybe some have had their talents curbed by the attitudes of the religion which they regret , while others have excelled in their field after exiting the religion .

  i heard from a "friend" that a letter was read aloud during the midweek meeting asking people to volunteer to do cleaning work in bethel.

  lol.

  i really can't think of anything else to say if this is true.. they get more free labor, and they still ask for more more more money!!

  "the non-christian cross" by john denham parsons, is a work that is still used by the watchtower society as a "proof" that the greek word stauros does not mean cross.

  here a portion of this work:.

  now the greek word which in latin versions of the new testament is translated as crux, and in english versions is rendered as cross, i.e., the word stauros, seems to have, at the beginning of our era, no more meant a cross than the english word stick means a crutch.

  Does anybody seriously think that youths of Jehovah`s Witnesses really care whether Jesus was crucified on a stake or a cross ? Give me a break !

  The youths of Jehovah`s Witnesses today are more concerned with what club can we go to this weekend , who`s playing , what`s the chick scene like .

  We need to chill out with all that WT stuff all week , let our hair down and get with it .Yeah man .

  Not meaning to derail your post opusdei1972 ,I just thought I would bring it up to the 21st Century ,and the new generation of Jehovah`s Witnesses .

  what is the purpose of preaching if not for converts?.

  basically, preaching by the jw's is to make converts.

  this in itself implies that jehovah's witnesses believe that they alone have the only acceptable way to god and that everyone else is just not worthy.

  Geoffrey Jackson when asked at the ARC , do Jehovah`s Witnesses believe they are the only ones who have the truth ? ,{ or something like that }, and his reply was " That would be presumptuous of me to say that "

  are your "senior moments" ever a cause for worry to you?

  Some people say I look 10 years younger than my age , however I feel 10 years older than my age .

  It frustrates me somewhat that I can`t do the things I used to be able to do , lack of energy ,loss of will power and motivation , I`m still reasonably mobile though thankfully .

  If I kick the bucket tomorrow or the next day ,I can`t complain ,I`ve had a good life considering all things., not that I want to mind you.

  Never worry about misplacing your keys , start worrying when you have them but can`t remember what their for.

  Finding the value of God; Isn't it better to believe in a deity?

  the question as to what believing in this entity called god entails is a fairly important question that needs to be answered first.

  to me, the key difference between a universe in which god exists versus one where god doesn't lies in the idea of teleology.

  in my view, a universe with god entails some sort of process towards an end, an end which can be characterized with words such as bliss and unity and others.

  This video highlights how Jehovah`s Witnesses are a divisive cult among their own members , it`s not what they say , it`s what they don`t say.

  Jehovah`s Witnesses scrutinize among themselves who is a spiritual person , and who is not , in their congregation .They are making a Judgmental decision , based on their own observations. .

  According to this video , the Governing Body of Jehovah`s Witnesses is sanctioning individuals of any Congregation to make a Judgmental decision who is spiritual and who is not based on their approval rating of the standards set out by the Governing Body.

  Who we approve of is a potential marriage mate , otherwise no,

  Aren`t they causing divisions in their own ranks with such a policy ? They say they want to keep pure worship in their religion and yet they foster suspicion among their own members against each other .

  Their is a culture of watching other people in the religion and tell tailing on others if you think they are breaking the rules or regulations of the strict boundarys of the religion , which will result in a Judicial Committee meeting which inevitibily results in .dis-fellowshipping and shunning.

  This is a side effect of picking a marriage mate . in J.W. land.

  Welcome truth doubter ,I don`t think any of us ever dreamed we would be on a site like this either , but thankfully we are .We are because we want to help and encourage others to know they are not alone in their doubts and confusion, and that so many more share the same realizations they are coming to , that is , that Jehovah`s Witnesses are no more God`s earthly channel of communication than the Mormons ,SDA`s , Christadelphians , or any other man made religion.
