So the bottom line is put the householder on the spot and embarrass him/her into making a donation , knowing that a good percentage of householders will do so .

Hypocrites
by atomant inget this my sister and her elder husband are visiting from over seas and are currently being groomed by bethel how to set a better example.they are being told how to behave right down to how to dress to set a proper christian example.anyway they are both over weight by a fair margin to be considered unhealthy.the clincher is this elder whom is over weight had the outright cheek to counsel my other sister whom is a j dub that she is over weight and needs to do something about it.
now hows that for hypocritical behaviour.prime example in any ones book dont you think???

A good proportion of JW`s are significantly overweight.
A good number have been married and divorced , some multiple times .
Google Crimes committed by Jehovah`s Witnesses proves it is anything but a Spiritual Paradise, especially with Child Sexual Abuse cases handled by the courts in one Country after another around the Earth.
The amount of witnesses abusing the welfare system while they pioneer taking advantage of the Governments handouts at the same time Demonizing them.
Hypocrites ? yes.

I can relate 100% to what Phizzy wrote ,an Elder in our congregation would often use words that did not belong in the conversation /Watchtower he was quoting .It was like he saw a word in the magazine and said to himself , I will use that in my next presentation without having a clue what it really meant or how it could be applied .
Sorry , but I used to feel for the poor bastard .

Gay advice from the Governing Body
by Listener inaccording to them you are not gay if you are attracted to the same sex, it's just hormones and you might grow out of it.. i wonder what hormones in particular they are talking about and if they feel that a female who goes through menopause is in danger of turning gay or even if taking hormones will adjust your thinking?.

As much as I hate war , and don`t we all ? , it is a necessary evil in the world we live in.The Utopian, pie in the sky dream , of a world without war , ceased to exist when Cain killed Abel .. That was the start of war.
From then on war has been a fact of life , with , I might add ,Jehovah`s blessing for centuries.
I find it curious how the God of war ,Jehovah/Yahweh excelled in warfare in the Hebrew Scriptures / Old Testament and had a miraculous conversion in the new Testament to denounce war among the nations and promote himself as a GOD of Love , the prince of peace ?
I concur with Nathan Natas , that if we didn`t participate in those warring against us , we would not have the freedoms we enjoy today .
Who of you want`s to live under the Imperial Japanese of the 1940`s , .or live under the Nazi regime of the 1940`s , Or who wants to live under the Caliphate of ISIL today , it`s only because of war , that we don`t have to. Read some books on these regimes of how they operated back then.
I am appalled at the Governments response to the needs and concerns of those who serve their country and do not get the basic recognition and help they deserve for putting their life on the line for serving their country .and maintaining our freedom.

Maybe that`s something Simon can do on the home page under " Entertainment" or "Social" and include the "Arts " in it`s various forms , where these contributions could be made .
Because of the very nature of this site , ex JW`s , I never really thought about contributing along those lines as not being JW related .
And while I always appreciated compound complex posts , I also had the feeling it was out from left field ?
I am more familiar with contributions about music and films , but , why not Art , Literature ,Poetry ,Classics , Etc.
Thank you compound complex for this post , I hope we as contributors can expand our knowledge on all things that make us human .
Maybe 2 other lines of thought could be brought in here .
Maybe some have had their talents curbed by the attitudes of the religion which they regret , while others have excelled in their field after exiting the religion .

They're now asking people to clean at Bethel?
by onightdivine ini heard from a "friend" that a letter was read aloud during the midweek meeting asking people to volunteer to do cleaning work in bethel.
lol.
i really can't think of anything else to say if this is true.. they get more free labor, and they still ask for more more more money!!

now the greek word which in latin versions of the new testament is translated as crux, and in english versions is rendered as cross, i.e., the word stauros, seems to have, at the beginning of our era, no more meant a cross than the english word stick means a crutch.

The youths of Jehovah`s Witnesses today are more concerned with what club can we go to this weekend , who`s playing , what`s the chick scene like .

by park ave boy inwhat is the purpose of preaching if not for converts?.
basically, preaching by the jw's is to make converts.
this in itself implies that jehovah's witnesses believe that they alone have the only acceptable way to god and that everyone else is just not worthy.
