  John Denver: On being human

  i have renewed respect and admiration for john denver after watching/listening to this video.some of it reminds me of words by another john, john lennon.i really regret that my jw upbringing made me dislike john denver after some things he had said about jw's in his earlier career.

  i would have loved to have heard this talk back in 1980 when it was first recorded.it hits home on so many levels of what we discuss on this very forum.

  everything from evolution to spirituality,humanity to religion, the ineptitude of modern politics to solve mankind's problems.the things which we allow to divide us as humans but more importantly the things which we all should allow to unite us.it is 2 hours in length but i didn't regret the time spent watching it because it was one of those things that show that he had very similar ideas,philosophies,and feelings that have been expressed on here.after what many of us have been through on our journey and trying to escape a religion that we found we were trapped/bound to in some form or another,something tells me he'd felt right at home being with us.this recording is almost 36 years old so the sound and picture quality might not be what we're accustomed to today but is so worth the watching of it.

  It has been over 6000 years according to the Bible of mans creation .the first 4000 years GOD has supposedly dealt with humans by Angels , one on one in a couple of instances , dreams ,prophets , etc.

  The last 2000 years he has been completely silent.

  I think he`s dead

  He`s certainly past his used by date.

  i feel like i need to vent my story out, as i feel quite helpless at the moment.. i'm 31 year old, married, father of toddler with another one on the way, due later this month.

  i've been serving as elder for about 4 years now in a south florida congregation.

  Your wife says the J.W.`s are at least closer to the "truth" than any other religion .

  Close enough is not good enough .

  The Jewish religion was the closest thing to the "truth" for 4000 years but it wasn`t good enough for Jehovah.

  You might be one number off the winning lottery combination , still not good enough, your still a loser.

  How JW ignore the help Felicity Sneesby got from the "World"

  lately, in the february broadcast program, at the 46 minutes mark, the watchtower provides the story of felicity sneesby.

  this report focuses on how, despite her serious illness, she, along with her family, has always placed her faith in jehovah and how happy she is for being part of jehovah’s family.. i am shocked by how this jw’s report completely ignores the help that this family has received from this system of things through the years.

  for instance, they slept at the ronald mcdonald house on at least 6 separate occasions and for long periods of time.

  It is not isolated cases either that bros. & sisters on welfare and disability payments , provided by the Governments , spend their time pioneering for Jehovah and not volunteering in any community aid program .

  I have personally known of some such cases, the reason I posted the previous time.

  The thing that J.W.`s can never get their head around if they even ever think of it ,.... is.

  They are brainwashed that this system of things is under the control of Satan the Devil ,and everything to do with Govt.& Religion. We will concentrate with Govt. for this exercise.

  Jesus was shown in a vision that Satan had all the Kingdoms of the world in his power and he could give them to Jesus if he did an act of worship to him . Jesus never denied that claim of Satan.

  "The whole world is lying in power of the wicked one" , " The God of this system of things has blinded .etc......"

  Now consider this :

  Rom .13 :1-7 , Christians are told to be obedient to the Superior Authorities of this world , Governments of this world , because they are placed in their relative positions by Jehovah , and to defy them is to oppose the arrangement of GOD , bringing GOD`s wrath upon you.

  So if you support the world , the superior authorities , the Governments , you play into Satan`s hands, and are supporting his interests .

  So If you don`t support the world , the superior authorities , you risk the wrath of Jehovah , because it exists by the arrangement of GOD , and you find yourself in opposition to Jehovah God.

  1950 Watchtower Bound Volume now Complete!

  the 1950 september 15th watchtower is now complete and this will finish the 1950 watchtower bound volume.

  a big thank you to jaydee for all of his hard work of scanning the watchtowers into jpg files which i received and converted into pdf files and made them searchable.

  jaydee worked day and night to get these files finished for us and i really appreciate his kindness... we only had to darken out one name on one shipping label.

  My apologies to Atlantis and Nathan Natas , and others , if my comment seemed to make light of the work and effort that has gone into their project , that was not my intention .

  It was an off the cuff flippant statement I made without thinking it through , and on reflection can see the true value of such research.

  It is a valuable tool in counter -acting the re-writing of history that is so common with the WTB&TS..

  these numbers and letters:--gbr659967--are the only identifying markson this boe..the "informant" who sent it said:.

  "this letter came through the congregation inbox and so hasn't got theusual identifying information.

  the name of the file is probably thebest way to identify it.

  Great post Atlantis and contributions from Girl next door and Talesin among others.

  I wonder if the ARC would be interested with this information as regards their investigating the Jehovah`s Witness /Child Sexual Abuse .

  I look forward to more information about this practice of destroying documents that may incriminate them in some way.

  Steph., while many J.W.`s are in themselves good honest hearted people ,they are indoctrinated by the BORG , to be parasites with regard to this system of things , in other words , if the Govts. of this world are stupid enough to give handouts to those who ask for it , then take advantage of it , after all it is Satans system of things , and he is the Ruler of this world.And if we can take advantage of that , its one for Jehovah and 0 for Satan .

  Thank`s talesin for those clips . My mind boggles when I see Lett on the screen , I mean to say cant these other G.B.members see what a liability he is to the organization ? He is not only a joke , he is an embarrassment to the organization .( So in that case keep him on , maybe more people will wake up )

  And Morris trying to get younger ones to be baptized , knowing full well that once baptized they are emotionally blackmailed to the organization , shame on him .

  Pardon my ignorance , but what is the point of producing all these bound volumes ? from years ago !?

  The excuse of J.W.`s is , it does not matter what was printed years ago , that`s " old truth " what we have now currently is the "new truths " because the light gets brighter every day

  Jehovah`s Witnesses are not interested in what was published years ago , it is only what the G.B. is saying today that counts.

  And in a couple of years time that wont count either , because their will be new revelations , new truths to be considered .

  I hope all your hard work has not been in vain , maybe I`m missing something , clue me in .

  Obey the Superior Authorities God says / God says Satan is controlling the Superior Authorities.?

  romans 13 : 1-4 clearly states that the superior authorities are an arrangement from god , defy them and you are working against the arrangement of god at your own peril.. christians are to be obedient to the superior authorities ,"for their is no authority except by god , the existing authorities stand placed in their relative positions by god .therefore he who opposes the authority has taken a stand against the arrangement of god ".

  4 :8-10 shows that all the kingdoms and governments are under satan`s control , jesus never disputed that claim .

  Is their a get out of jail card clause with obeying or not obeying Rom. 13 : 1-7 ?

  And if so where is it ? What scripture ?

  My understanding of the above text is to obey the Superior Authorities because they are placed in their relative positions by Jehovah , and to disobey them , the Superior Authorities , you are going against the arrangement of Jehovah because he put this system in place.

  If you are not doing bad deeds , then comply with the Superior Authorities

  If you are doing bad deeds , be in fear of the Superior Authorities .

  Because it is Jehovah`s avenger.
