  I could only take so much of his arguments turned it off halfway through it.

  Just seemed like he was nit-picking ? Sure , you wouldn`t have seen anything like that 5-10 or so years ago , however he could have challenged the WT on a more serious note , say like G.Jackson testimony at the Australian Royal Commission into Child Sexual Abuse , or the UK investigation into the WT , or even all the law suites taking place in the USA .etc,etc.

  Plus,,, I don`t see where Japanese still ins are outraged with this video , maybe I will have to look at the rest of the video , and comment again

  Newspaper article on Conventions—why so glowing?

  every year in dozens of cities where conventions are being held, newspapers typically write an article about the event.

  there are exceptions, but usually it is like the articles above.

  i would love to see more newspaper articles that did some actual objective reporting, rather than puff pieces.

  I sent Emily Thornton an e-mail suggesting she do her homework on Jehovah`s Witnesses before just copying a PR statement from the convention , especially since the Witnesses are very vocal in their publications about the dangers of higher education , as well as shunning,and Child Abuse cases with the ARC .

  Not surprisingly it was never acknowledged , at least she got it.

  And that`s what you can do ,comment on any article that`s printed in a newspaper either by contacting the journalist or writing in " Letters To The Editor" section

  Should all the JW`s who ever took part in a quick build/renovations take out a class action against the WTB&TS for compensation ?

  let`s face it , the people who took part in quick builds / renovations of kingdom halls , etc, never expected the wtb&ts to sell off the buildings they were so sure was for furthering kingdom interests in this system of things .. they gave their time, effort, money, labour ,free of charge , and then some years later the society sells it off for a profit ?

  to the wt ?.

  Let`s face it , the people who took part in quick builds / renovations of kingdom halls , etc, never expected the WTB&TS to sell off the buildings they were so sure was for furthering kingdom interests in this system of things .

  They gave their time, effort, money, labour ,free of charge , and then some years later the Society sells it off for a profit ? to the WT ?

  Kingdom halls , Assembly Halls , etc. built by volunteer labour , gifts , donations etc. all goes to the WTB&TS , they own it.,

  not the people who laboured over it , not the people who physically laboured over it , and not the people who financed it.

  It belongs to the WTB&TS , and when they see fit to dispose of such a building the proceeds / profits go to , you guessed it the WTB&TS.

  Do the congregations that were involved in these activities receive any monetary benefits for their efforts ? No of course not , the GB reaps all the benefits /profits.

  The rank and file , the ordinary practicing Jehovah`s Witness has been taken for a fool for generations thinking they are serving Jehovah .

  The fact is they have been serving the interests of the Governing Body of Jehovah`s Witnesses

  A question for NEWBIES , especially if you would have died for your beliefs , and / or if you have been a long time in the religion .

  i`m just curious as to how you came across this site or any other "apostate" site for that matter especially now when the internet on the one hand is so demonized when it comes to the subject of jehovah`s witnesses , except of course for jw.org ,.

  was it by accident ?

  I`m just curious as to how you came across this site or any other "apostate" site for that matter especially now when the internet on the one hand is so demonized when it comes to the subject of Jehovah`s Witnesses , except of course for JW.ORG ,

  Was it by accident ? somebody has mentioned it to you ? Your own curiosity ? something or someone has stumbled you ?

  any other reason ?

  I for one would find it very interesting how you respond.

  In my own case , many years ago when my son set up a computer for me ( I had been out close to 15 years by then ) I was curious about the JW`s and came across Shaun`s site an ex JW , which I thought was very good ,which then led me to Dogpatch ,which I also find very good ,which led me here ,where I feel it suits my needs and where I can express myself and learn so much more than what I would have dreamed of.

  So please , feel free to contribute your personal experience (without exposing yourself) I`m sure it would be very informative to us all.

  Of course older posters may also give their experiences also ,I just thought that so many newbies are coming in now , how do they find us ?

  I thought it was time to talk.....

  i'd like to relate an experience i had yesterday with a couple of jw's "working" with a cart yesterday.. been coming to this site for many years and these days i don't feel i've got much to contribute ,but i was out yesterday doing some voluntary work for a friend who has gone on an overseas trip .travelling around my local seaside area doing the job at hand ,i came across a couple of jw's sitting in a shelter overlooking the beach and had their trolley propped against a large public rubbish bin ,it was actually hard to see ithe trolley from most angles - whatever happened to lifting the basket to show the light stuff ...oh well .the large carpark was pretty empty except for us ,we've had pretty wet weather here lately ,bad storms and here they were set up for a days witnessing rugged up with wind and spitting rain ,i sort of thought " well that's dedication " ....that was my first thought then i pulled myself together and then thought "if i wanted to get some time in and not have to work at it too hard this maybe the place to go if i was a jw still".. well i finished my pickup and looked over at the two and realised i'd read other's experiences about approaching the cart people and wondered if talking to them would be of any benefit as i had witnessed this area for many years and my stance against the wts for hiding molestation of children is well known ,i thought, and they avoid me like the plague.. they were'nt familiar to me so i went up to them and introduced myself and quickly let them know who i was and what i am doing now as regards jw's.

  they were a married couple middle aged been in for a long time and could relate to changes in the org very well to pre 1975 when i had first contact.

  they pretty much suggested i was blinded to the truth ,when challenged on the royal commission into sex abuse they pointed to a case where they believed a victim they supposedly knew of in the jws was a liar ,so that's their case for the org -unbelievable.

  When they said " maybe todays meeting was from Jehovah" you should have said I agree , he is trying to open your eyes to the real truth and take off those rose coloured glasses you have on about the organization.

  Apart from that well done.

  Remember , the only power they have over you is the power you give them .

  Don`t give them that power by doing what they want you to do , do what you want to do and don`t let yourself be manipulated by them.

  Simply stated you don`t have to answer to them ,tell them your spirituality is between you and your GOD nobody else .

  Use spiritual warfare : Deflect questions , evade answers , play dumb , just keep changing the subject, and walk away .

  Don`t invite them into your house for a talk ,they will only try to trip you up .Don`t meet with them.

  It never ceases to amaze me why they have to continually revise the Bible whether it be in Braille or otherwise .

  Maybe after a couple of Century`s or so , but not every couple of years.
