It is absolutely galling to me that my wife submits herself to this madness

i've tried to get over this, i honestly have.

since i stopped my kids going to meetings, things have gotten a little better.. but knowing the content of the convention programme that she was subjected to on friday, it amazes me and greatly annoys me that she goes back for more, today.

for her to sit there watching those crazy, fear mongering bunker videos.

Think of the indoctrination process that every "Witness" is/was subjected to.

I`m going back 20 or so years but I don`t think much has changed since then .

The book study , which I think has now been disbanded , however the principle would still apply to the family worship that is current.

You read the article , paragraph by paragraph , questions are asked about each paragraph and you answer what is in the paragraph and nothing else.

It is all about leading questions , and set answers to these leading questions , that are continually going on for 5 meetings a week as of 20 or so years ago.

5 meetings ? yes , 1. The book Study 2. The Ministry School 3.The service meeting.4 The Watchtower Study ,

and 5 The Public Talk , that in my experience of 33 years in the religion , no public ever attended.

so the elders called wanting to meet with me and my husband.

most likely because i told a concerned jw friend of mine that i really care about that i wasn't coming back and a couple of the issues i had.

i didn't bring up any so-called "apostate" information, just told her about the australian royal commission and that there are a lot of unscriptural teachings and that the gb apply scriptures that are about jehovah and jesus to themselves, which is idolatry.

They have no control over you unless you give it to them , but you already know that , right ?

I think it`s a pity your husband hasn`t supported you more strongly enough , worrying more about his relationship with family members who support this cult. That`s sad .

He should be worrying about his relationship with his wife above everyone else and supporting her , and not the cult.

so i noticed on the news tonight that the convention is going on in my hometown this weekend.

i honestly had no idea.

the person on the news said they were expecting 7500-8000 attendees.

an apostate lie.. and seeing as no jw i've spoken to has ever heard of it, and flatly deny any involvement "no, they wouldn't do that", i decided to do a little "personal study" of my own.

i think i'm just ornery when it comes to equality.

ever since i can remember, i've always believed that all people were created equal.

the colour of a person's skin is irrelevent to me.

If you believe in the Bible , Jehovah never created all people equal , in Genesis , the Male Adam was the dominant being and the Female Eve was to be subordinate to the male Adam .

No equality their I`m afraid .

This was the prime belief in the Old Testament / The Hebrew Scriptures

and it is sanctioned in the New Testament /the Christian Greek Scriptures.

Women according to the Bible need to know their place.

When the WT publications show in illustrations the 144000 in heaven ,( and their have been many ) they all have beards , why is that ,? no women are among the 144000 ?

The WTB&TS have shown over the years they do not appreciate /respect women for their contribution in this day and age .

In Bible times they were given much more respect and recognition as prophetess and women of prominence , that is not recognized or acknowledged in the WTB&TS today.

JW's opinions on bunker video

the so called bunker video isn't just getting attention here but among jws as well.

i've heard a fair share of cracks, some half joking half serious about the prospect of the video playing out in real life .

but something else i've heard is that the video was meant to be figurative, an illustration representing the 'interior rooms' prophecy..

FedUpJW , that sums up my Niece to a tee ,drinking the kool-aid by the gallons.

The sad thing is , she has two teenage boys who so far give the impression they believe in it lock stock and barrel , or maybe that`s just for the parents benefit until they are old enough to flee the nest.

.However without meaning to be judgemental ,it would not surprise me if in the not too distant future , one or the other comes out of the "closet". ( not that theirs anything wrong with that ) it`s just that they both seem to have effeminate tendencys that I have noticed.

Their father always gave me the impression he was an old woman anyway.Whether that has anything to do with it I don`t know.
