  Public Meeting Talk Titles ( Listed numerically) and their are many.

  I have been in at least 6 congregations over a period of 33 years in 2 states of Australia and I could count on my left hand no more than three people who were genuine "public" who attended a public talk.

  What a joke they are to advertise public talks when no public ever turn up. They are delusional .

  Using spin they may claim unbaptised children of witnesses , relatives of witnesses , are the public , I disagree.

  The public are those in the territory with no JW connection who come to a public talk , cold turkey from the witnessing ,either D2D or Incidental witnessing.

  And in my 33 years I couldnt count more than 3 people who would have attended .

  Does God communicate with humans today?

  there seems to be confusion within christianity regarding whether or not god communicates with humans today and if he does, how does he do it?.

  - does god still insert thoughts into people's minds today or is that something which he only did in the past?.

  - some maintain that god is no longer giving persons dreams/visions or speaking directly to them or sending angels to speak with them today but he will nevertheless insert thoughts into their minds to guide them.

  If God was going to talk to anyone , wouldnt it be more sensible for him to talk directly to the leaders/heads of all the nations and telling them straight out whats going to happen to them and their people if they dont toe the line .? and educate their people to worship him ?

  Why beat around the bush and talk to a couple of Christians who nobody takes any notice of anyway, because their is so many conflicting versions of the so called truth.

  God should look at the movie "The Day The Earth Stood Still " original version ,he might then have some success.

  what sick fu... writing this article thought the the average person did this to keep kids quiet..

  Midweek meeting video

  did anybody see the service meeting video this week?.

  australian sister was sexually abused as a child and thought of ending her life at 14 years old, sometime later jw's call on her father who accepts a study and eventually the whole family becomes witnesses, life gets much better as the sister immerses herself in pioneering etc, she still has some dark days but prayer along with going for walks and swimming has helped her cope with bad memories of child abuse, the new system (just around the corner) will completely fix everything......... i'm dumbfounded, the hypocrisy has literally rendered me speechless......comments anybody?.

  you found out about ttatt way back in the 70's or maybe the 80's (basically before the internet) and you thought that you were all alone in this knowledge?

  what do you think would have happened to you?

  no jehovahs-witness.com, no john cedars, no arc, no jwfacts.com and no crisis of conscience to fall back on.

  I`m obviously a slow learner and was gullible.I converted in 1960 by a co-worker ,read all I could of WT literature including some old books "Jehovah" ",Vindication" and "Harp of God" and even read "30 Years a Watchtower Slave" and Marley Coles book that was supposed to be by an outsider.

  I convinced my then GF to join me ,we were baptised and married in a KH within 14 months and we were held up as an example at the CA where we were baptised a couple of months before our wedding.

  However I had nobody else to sound off about what I was reading and bought the line , the truth is progressive , the light is getting brighter as the day goes on.

  Had the internet been around back then and would it have made a difference to me ?

  I`m pretty damn sure it would have , simply because you can talk to others about your doubts ,you can hear other peoples response to your questions ,things that have always been discouraged by the WT.

  However it took us 33 years before we left the religion.in1993.

  How successful are others at getting ex-dubs together?

  for my first shunniversary i reached out to the local ex-dubs that i know.

  i invited 11 total to join me in a little get together at a local restaurant, then back to my house to hang out.

  one friend asked if he could invite others, and i encouraged him, and all, to do so.

  The JW religion brought many people together who would not ordinarily associate together , coming from all walks of life , socio-economic differences etc.that promoted socialising at the KH ,and at conventions and assemblys.

  Not to mention some weirdos who were attracted to the religion

  Some congregations I was in took the sociaising further where we got together for other activities.

  Maybe people are apprehensive / wary about meeting up with "strangers " again and feel they may be getting involved again in something their not comfortable with.

  Years ago I was in contact with a poster on this board who lives in the same state and we talked about meeting up for coffey,but it never eventuated .

  Does anybody know whether aaron is stil a JW ? He would have acheived a bit of celebrity status with that photo shot , that ended up being shown all around the world.

  I just wonder if his interest in photography would have taken on a new impetus with that photo and if it changed his life .

  If your out their Aaron please let us know.
