Where was Jesus (or YHWH) when little children needed them?

it is claimed by christians that jesus cares deeply for children, for the gospel says:.

15now people were even bringing their babies to jesus for him to place his hands on them.

And not to diminish or take away from your post fulltimestudent , thank you for highlighting it ,this case against Risdale and Co,here in Australia is only the tip, of the tip, of the iceberg .

Its apparently endemic around the world , and not just from what we would normally call low-lifes ,but includes people in high places in society , politicians , Judges in law enforcement ,well documented religious hierearchy individuals,sporting clubs officials,coaches and trainers ,the list goes on and on .

So it does beg the question : Was jesus just spouting off at the mouth ? Does he really care ?

Its been 2000 years since Jesus was on earth , the plight of children has never been so bad in all human history as it is today .

Abuse of children around the world is pandemic ,and their is no GOD no JESUS to protect them .

They havent for the past 2000 years , so why would you believe they will do so now.?

It is up to us to stick up for the young children by at least speaking out against these abuses where we can.

Seriously ,

When you think about what happened in Malawi for not carrying a "card" , the persecution that ensued , rape , beatings , death ,and the displacement of thousands of people fleeing to neighbouring lands , all because of Watchtower policy then in existence , and now seeing this in Chile and the pathetic excuse the organization makes for condoning it , is nothing short of criminal.

And lets not forget in the same time frame as to what was happening in Malawi , the brothers in Mexico were paying a bribe to the Mexican authorities to say they had fullfilled their obligation to alternative military service when they had not done so.

And the Governing Body of JW`s knew what was happening in both countries and did nothing either to alleviate the suffering of the Malawi brothers and sisters , and nothing to chastise or condemn what was happening in Mexico.

The Governing Body /Jehovah`s Witnesses /the WTB&TS / all have blood on their hands for their policys.

What Must One Do To Get Baptized?

the scriptures teach one must be baptized i the name of the father, son and holy spirit.

how do the jws baptize and what must one do to receive it?

also, if all baptized members become ordained ministers, does that mean they can baptize their own converts?

Cold Steel ,your a bit of a character ,I just re-read your bio.LOL

However you raise a few interesting points , a couple I will try to answer , and if I make a boo boo , I`m sure someone will correct me.

Where do I start , OK,

1. I dont think JW`s now baptise in the name of the Father,Son ,and Holy Spirit.,that should raise a red flag shouldnt it ?

2.Every body who is baptised is considered a Minister of God ,even a 10 or 12 year old child .Ludicrous isnt it ?

3.And no , not anybody can baptise another person , only appointed Elders can do so mainly at conventions or Assemblys ,unless special circumstances arise for individuals.

And no way can a parent baptise their own children.

Baptism usually occurs after at least 6 months study of JW publications with another JW who decides whether you are a suitable candidate for total immersion. ( in other words you have been brainwashed enough)

4.Women allowed to baptise ? Give me a break ,women are not even recognised in their illustrations of the 144000 heavenly class ,even though a great number of women profess to be of the anointed class here on earth. And dont forget women make up the majority of JW`s living today.

5.As far as I know DF , DA, faders , do not have to undergo baptism again & again as far as I know that does not happen.

6.Baptism among JW`s is a public spectacle of your dedication to Jehovah God ,to be witnessed too.

when my husband and i left the religion of jehovah’s witnesses (jws), we, like countless others, lost family members and friends because of the witnesses shunning doctrine.

I`m sorry that you and your husband have/are going through this Barbara ,and as you are fully aware ,hundreds , if not thousands of others are going through this same crap.

My lovely daughter in law has, and is , still going through this from her parents and siblings for the past 15 years. As previous posters have said , if your son ever wakes up to the TATT , he will never forgive himself for the way he has treated you both , especially if either of you leave this world before hand.

As has happened many times over , his own children may disown the religion , and frankly I hope that will be the case. Maybe he will learn a bit of compassion then and regret the way he has treated you both.

Oh the irony! The elder, a car accident, and me....

oh this is just worth sharing!.

so , as many know, it has been two years since i have attended any meetings, conventions, etc....nothing...cold turkey.. the hassles and problems the elders threw our way were monumental....so many details i could share, but suffice it to say, we stood firm and kept our dignity and poise and reminded them of "appropriate boundaries ".

one elder in particular has since spared no effort in ensuring that malicious gossip and slander has been spread so that witnesses have avoided us like the plague!.

I also agree with Island Mans post ,"Jehovah works in mysterious ways" he will get the credit not you.

less than 5 hours ago my great dad fell asleep the last time :( still in a bit of a shock and sad that i will not see him again...i promised myself that once he is here no more, i will somehow make my move out of this organisation who kept us all captive believing in a fantasy of an everlasting life :( i am in a tricky situation, since raised as jw, still in, married to an active jw, and pretty sure that all in my social and family circle will turn their backs on me if i finally say goodbye to a fairytail ;(.

The control of humans

every relationship, every government ,every religion , the application of different control factors always take place.

are we as human adverse to this control factor or is rebellion a part of our make up?

can someone ever be free from some control?

As I have grown up and matured (?) I have come to the realization that "control" of one degree or another is always present in any relationship ,whether between a husband & wife , or even same sex couples .

One partner or the other is going to have a stronger personality , either to a greater or lesser degree than the other partner , and they are going to exert their influence

Stronger personality = greater control , Weaker personality = lesser control

Domestic violence in relationships is one obvious result of usually a man controlling , dominating a woman.

Of course the opposite can be true but that is more of a rarity.

This myth of a perfect marriage/ relationship , is just that , a myth , in such relationships either the husband is a doormat or the wife is a doormat bending to the will of the dominant personality , the controlling person.

Compromising all the time for the sake of peace , means you are being controlled.Face it.

Getting all your own way in discussions could mean your the controlling partner.Face that.

When this sort of influence goes on in normal households , imagine what goes on in politics around the world , and not just politics , commerce , and religion .

it is quite rare that a german news site actually puts something up about jws, after all they are insignificant from a newsworthy point of view.

The translation says that Masha Root was born into the religion and decided at the age of 16 she no longer wanted to be a part of it after having been in a relationship with a worldly person and was ratted on to the Elders by a "friend" .

Her u-tube has been visited by a quarter of a million viewers denouncing JW`s as a cult.

She was baptized as a witness at the age of 12 and since leaving a couple of years ago she has lost her" friends" and parents and is being shunned.

Thats what I gleaned from the broken english translation .

Judical committee flaws

if an elder sitting in a jc has a secret sin of a serious nature, his rulings that took place while this sin was unknown are still binding.

in a court of law of most countries that would be a grounds for appeal.

regardless i know they are kangaroo courts ,where anyone who has any biblical knowledge knows they can't back up a scriptural reference for a three man tribunal.

If an Elder on a JC has an undisclosed sin he`s hiding , the ruling would still be binding because of the scripture " where the 2 or 3 witness rule applies.

Just my 2 cents worth.
