  Has their ever been any meet-ups here in Australia ? in any state ? Just curious , I`m in Victoria.

  I`m not one that jumps into relationships/meeting people at the best of times. so I dont know how I would go anyway.

  I tend to sus people out before I make myself known, I see myself as a middle of the road sort of a guy,not a leader ,nor do I want to be on the tail end ,if you know what I mean.

  Even in my workplace ,when a new person joined ,I would tend to sit back and see what they wew like before getting too chummy with them , unlike some who jumped in as if they were lifelong buddys ,sometimes to their sorrow.

  You know what I mean ?

  i decided to join this forum as have been lurking awhile.

  there are lots of interesting topics on here that appeal to me.. i have been a witness for almost 3 decades and am very disillusioned with the organisation at this time.

  i am beginning to see it in a new light as i am getting older.

  Watchtower view on hunting and fishing?

  i grew up doing both.

  while i was in the org, i didn't hear too much about fishing, but all of the co's frowned upon hunting.

  their stance was jw's should not own a gun.

  Jesus obviously approved of fishing ,killing fish for food , and he would not be against hunting animals for food as is demonstrated in the Bible anyway.

  Your OP is not explicit enough , hunting for sport is entierely a different thing altogether .and I guess that is what you actually meant.

  If a JW hunts or fishers for the purpose of putting food on the table for himself or his family , nobody , elders ,CO ,`s or anybody, has cause for complaint against him , that is definetely a conscience matter.

  Killing for sport is another matter entirely.,and maybe you should look on Jehovah God`s record in the Bible for his record on that score.

  i find it hard to believe that the flamboyant grooming, earrings and heels would grant him positive status in the congregation.

  it definitely wouldn't fly in my old cong in arizona.

  he would been pulled in the b room rather fast.

  So this is all JESUS the enthroned King in 1914 was able to accomplish after 102 years of his Reign ?... SFA ?

  102 years reigning as King over the Christian Congregation of Jehovah`s Witnesses since 1914. and what have we got ?

  All we have seen during these 102 years is , corrections ,adjustments ,backflips ,new procedures replacing old procedures that in turn replaced old procedures that previously replaced new procedures.

  All under the guise of New Light , if new light is replacing old light then old light was never new light in the first place.!?

  If Jesus Christ was a CEO of any Company worth its salt in the Business world today he would be kicked out on his ass as being an incompentent , 102 years in the job , and thats all he can come up with ?

  who was the president of the first century christian congregation after jesus death , , the secretary ,the treasurer ,the field overseer ,the district overseer ,who were the lawyers protecting the congregations from secular authorities ,the mogul`s of real estate , buying up land and getting christians to build places of worship with free labor and then selling them off for a profit a few years down the track , with nothing going back to those who laboured on those projects .. where are the records on papyrus , that the 1st century witnesses counted their hours ,made return visits ,bible studies ,oops the bible wasnt even formulated then ,that didn`t occur until apostate christendom in the 3rd century came up with a number of books to be inspired ..

  Don't touch ark of covenant

  i raised an issue with a co once about an elders qualifications, he visited my house and in no uncertain terms said don't touch ark of covenant ( referring to elder as ark ) , i was gob smacked then he said to wife and i that if we pursued such an avenue we could be grieving gods holy spirit.

  so ther you go elder are on par with god ..

  Elders have qualifications ? Just asking. And you are quite right JM ,it`s a natural human reaction to reach out to stop something falling.

  .Uzzah didnt have a hope of pleasing this bloodthirsty God , it was just another excuse to take another human life.

  Will China's Giant New Radio Telescope be able to hear YHWH and JESUS conversing?

  china has just switched on its 500 metre diameter radio telescope, nearly twice as large as the previous largest.

  among other things it is tasked to do, it will eventually be programmed to look for and analyse radio waves that may have a non-natural origin.. so will the scientists manning this facility eventually hear yhwh and jesus having a chat?.

  hi, my name is jason.

  i was born in 1987 in nsw, australia into a jehovahs witness household (my parents were baptised mere months before i was born) with 2 older siblings (brother and sister) and in time a younger brother.

  i had a pretty happy childhood, we moved to north brisbane by the time i was 5 years old.
