  david goldman's hongkong based (and web published) media journal, the asia,times describes what may be the world's longest running terrorist insurrection in india.

  their latest success was an attack on india's state security forces, in which they killed 26 members of the security force.. you can read the at's attempt to analyse the origins and causes of the naxalite (they are also called maoists) rebellions at: http://www.atimes.com/indias-maoist-violence-must-resolved-dialogue/.

  the hindustan times has a table detailing the dead in this rebellion.. finally, i saw nothing about the latest attack (april) in the aussie media.

  Terrorists of the past were contained to a relative small local area with a specific goal. eg Northern Ireland with the Catholics and protestants ,it didnt spill over to the rest of the world where Catholics and protestant are. It was contained to Northern Ireland.

  Islam /Muslim terroists take their grievances to the four corners of the world ,killing innocent people of all persuasions adults ,children ,and even fellow Muslims they dont agree with.

  They may not be the only terroists in the world but they are by far the most dangerous ,extremist group that needs to be eradicated before anarchy erupts between Islam ,Christianity,and Everybody else.

  Headed to vegas! Anything i should do?

  Las Vegas was one of the stops my wife and I did on our 50th wedding anniversary a few years back. We did the helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon which was fantastic.landing their for a light snack and fed some small squirrels ? It`s about a 2-3 hour round trip but well worth the money . Walk through many of the Casinos as they all have something to offer in the way of beauty ,art and uniqueness from each other.

  The music/light show of the water fountains at the Pellagio is something to see.especially at night time .

  And make sure you take in the "old "section of the vegas Casinos as well .

  We stayed at Ceasers Palace and across the road on the corner is an Irish bar which I liked.

  We travelled their in march and the weather was very pleasant.

  Definetely take in some shows according to your budget ,surprisingly I didnt lose money on the pokies I came out about even.

  One regret I have I didnt purchase a spray painting that a few young guys were doing on the strip depicting L.V. I should have purchased one for a souvenir of our stay.

  And as they say whatever happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

  "Bible Societies" all around the world have been distributing the whole Bible or the New testament freely since (Adam was a boy) almost.And I mean"free"

  The Gideon Bible Society among many others.

  I dont think Jehovahs Witnesses could come anywhere near what they have distributed worldwide in the last few centuries .

  Isn`t their a broad distinction between what a sin is and what a crime is ?

  The searcher ,those scriptures you quote all refer to sins committed and not crimes committed and I think their is a big difference.

  Rom.6:7 "For he who has died has been acquitted from his sin"

  He has been acquitted from his sin not his crime.

  And I would think that applies to all serial killers and mass murderers at least.

  in the 18th century the calculations of archbishop james ussher regarding the age of the earth were still accepted without question.

  according to ussher god made the earth at 6pm on the evening of saturday 22nd october 4004 b.c.. this naive certainty was to become a victim of the scottish enlightenment and the brilliant mind of james hutton.

  having qualified as a medical doctor in 1749 hutton returned to the family farm in berwickshire not far from where i am typing this now.

  I think you and many other posters confusing the 7.000 years of a creative day as was taught by Jehovahs Witnesses back when I became a witness in 1960 with the creation of the universe as being only 49,000 years And many then get the idea JW`s taught that the earth is only 6000 years old .

  Nothing could be further from the truth.

  Jehovahs witnesses taught that humans have only been on this earth for 6000 years since Adam and Eve were created not that the earth was created 6000 years ago .(maybe age has wearied some that they get confused with what the WT did actually teach)

  What I was taught in 1960 the statement in the bible "In the beginning God created the heavens and earth"

  That is the universe which includes the earth.

  Gen1:1 Is just a general statement of fact (according to the Bible) Which could have taken place millions/billions of years ago . Gen1:2 then jumps to when God turns his attention to preparing the earth for human habitation.,that now has the 7000 year of one creative day .(which of course is still BS)

  So Gen.1:1 could have taken place millions or even billions of years ago , the creative days of 7000 years each only applied to God Jehovah turning his attention to his purpose respecting the earth to prepare it and have it habitated with humans.

  It has annoyed me no end to see this often misconception relayed here by well meaning folk but we do need to get our facts right when we challenge what JW`s have taught in the past.

  By the way I love your evolution posts I have learnt so much.and am still learning.

  this court case has been ongoing for the last couple of months - seems like the first verdicts came out at the end of last week - with more expected shortly.the sydney morning herald, may 12 2017. man found guilty of raping and detaining succession of women .

  a man accused of torturing, raping and detaining women he lived with over more than two decades has been found guilty of a raft of charges.. the 52-year-old's trial heard allegations that he physically and psychologically abused a succession of women he lived with on the nsw central coast between 1988 and 2014.. a jury found the man guilty of 10 rape charges and eight count of detaining for advantage in the nsw district court on friday afternoon.

  Reading those accounts in the Sydney Morning Herald by this journalist Melanie Kembrey of the treatment this once Jehovahs Witness inflicted on so many women beggars belief ,it seems so unbelievable.Its hard to comprehend that such a situation could go on for such a long time with so many victims.

  Was this case reported on by any other media ? Just curious.
