i looked up that watch and see it for $399.

Their is no way in the world I would pay $399 for a watch and I bet the GB get their suits made by a talor and not off the rack (whereever) which are not cheap either.

And none of them have jobs ,so its the contributions that pay for their livelihoods.{ clothing ,food,accomodation ,Air travel to conventions around the world ,did I say accomodation,pinky rings , watches ,etc. and not only for them but their wives also.,think about that .}

I remember going back over 30 years ago somebody commenting on the new facilities of JW`s and how it had a grand staicase and it looked like a million dollars ,and the official respose back then was something like ,false religion spends big money on their institutions so the true God deserves the best that we provide outshining them.or words to that effect.

It will happen when the Jehovahs Witnesses opt out of the redress scheme implemented by the Australian Royal Commission into paying compensation to those who were sexually abused by molesters in the religion , and the exposure that the ARC comes out and publicly names them for their lack of concern for children either in the religion or outside of it in their door to door evangelizing..

Counting Field Service Time

something that always drove me crazy was when the jw's would say after the meeting on sunday, "i have to go out this afternoon to get my time in.

" in the car group after service someone would always ask, "so how much time did we get?".

it the watchtower company said that turning in time is no longer required because jehovah knows what we are doing to serve him, there would be a tremendous drop in the door to door activity and the coffee cart work.

Jesus only preached for 3.5 years at most when he was 30 years old. ,From 10 years old till he was 30 he never preached at all according to the Bible .

So I dont think he could boast many hours preached in service compared to some JW`s today ,who started their witnessing as young teenagers, and continuing well into their 60`s ,70`s and even 80`s .

And where did Jesus say you have to report your hours of service in the ministry he gave his disciples anyway ?

Confusedandangry I would be interested to know which KH you are referring to and is this something thats gone on recently ? Or was it sometime in the past.

Why I ask is that I was in Melbourne in the 1960`s and was taken to task for growing a beard and was pressured to take it off .

Some years later In Qld I tried to grow a beard and i was again pressured to take it off.

Admittedly this all happened more than 25 years ago and i find it hard to believe the Australian JW`s would have relaxed that ban today.

So Jehovahs Witnesses are witnesses of a a God who was never named Jehovah ,yeah that makes sense.

The name Jehovah only being given to the four Hebrew letters by a Spanish monk in the 13th Century of our common era no less.

I wonder how many JW`s are aware of that fact.

Animals As Food :giving Thanks to their Spirit as opposed to Thanking God For the Food provided.

as i was cutting up our bbq chook in preperation for our meals i thought about some indigenous societies that just after a kill give thanks to the spirit of the animal for providing its life so he and his family can live.. i thought that seems to make a helluva lot more sense than giving thanks to an unseen god who is apparently indifferent to mankinds sufferings and is deaf to all the prayers that are offered up to him.. maybe we dont hunt for our food nowadays in the civilized world , but i think its food for thought..

They Can't Admit They're Wrong ...

as 1975 approached, we began to hear the preliminary murmurs of denial from the society rather than any honest admissions or apologies for their dreadful mistake.

finally, i remember sitting at the watchtower study one sunday listening to the brothers and sisters parroting the information from the study article and innocently taking all of the blame for misinterpreting what the society had said about 1975. it was the first of several occasions when i longed to jump up from my seat, run to the podium, and argue for the apparently forgotten truth.

instead, i sat there and thought how much the society was like the scribes and pharisees in jesus dayburdening the people with heavy loads that they were not willing to budge with their finger (matthew 23:4).

I was one that went through the 1975 fiasco and remember quite clearly how the Borg tried to distant themselves from any responsability of giving the impression that armageddon could occur in 1975 or failing that only a few months not years later.

And even though I knew they were not being totally honest about their involvement in promoting 1975 and then blaming the rank and file for reading too much into what was said in talks and print ,

I still didnt wake up until 1993 that they were full of shit ......thats another 18 years down the drain.

I dont consider myself a complete idiot ,the last 40 years of my 54 years working life was as a Laboratory technician .

However I still ponder how I could have been an active JW for 33 years before and after 1975.

The brain ..what you want to believe ...regardless of what facts tell you...rationality ? Justification ? Ignorance ?

Stupidity ? Upbringing ? Family ? again, your brain ,they all have a bearing on what you believe and how you respond to alternative beliefs presented to you.

Sanderson's hate speech

gb member sanderson has given a hate speech in response to the recent russian ban.

it was given as a morning worship rant.

sanderson sports his usual smirk.. he opens up quoting matthew 10:22, 23 about persecution.

All Sanderson has done is validate the Russian Govts claim that the Jehovahs Witness religion is extremist and hateful and that they are justified in banning them for claiming the Russian government are Agents of Satan the devil .

Which of course implys that Russian JW`s would view the Government as enemys of them and they would pose a potential threat to the existing Russian regime.

And their "witnessing" gaining converts would be viewed as influencing others to join in their rebellion against the Government.

Sanderson hasnt done the JW organization or the JW population in Russia any favours with this broadcast in fact quite the opposite.
