The penalty for disobeying God in the book of Genesis is death ,plain and simple.Nothing else is alluded to .
Except for the birth pangs that women would now endure ,their was absolutely nothing about any other afflictions that Adam and Eve and their offspring would have to endure for their initial disobedience.
God ,Jehovah,Yahweh whatever you want to call him only said that the penalty of disobeying him was death.they would eventually die.
The fact of life is humans suffer far much more than death ,is GOD guilty of the sin of omission ? in not spelling out all of the diseases ,the indignitys ,debillitating illnesses,life threatening diseases ,far too many to mention by name ,however none of them indicated in the sentence handed down to Adam and Eve.or their offspring.
Do not withhold good from those to whom you should give it if it is within your power. - Prov 3:27"
is there really any reason why God couldn't help out and do good in the meantime, give us a cure for cancer for instance? If it is in His power to do that, would it make any difference in settling the issue as to whether man can rule himself?
Why was their leprosy sufferers in the days when God /Jehovah was the theocratic ruler over the nation of Israel ? just as an example.,why did Gods chosen people die in battles waged when God was with them in favourable times ?
