in view of the phenomenal coverup revealed by the arc, and as the above thread is five years old, i thought it appropriate to give mr. unthank tremendous "thanks" for his courage and determination..

The jehovahs Witnesses resisted for years (4-5) for getting "working with children checks" and it was mainly the work and determination of Steven that they finally complied.

I made reference to the JW`s not compliying ,to a talkback radio host at the ABC about that time.

I also contacted a now senator about this same subject at the time.

Nothing eventuated from my input.

I personally attended one of Steven Unthanks court/magistrates appearances in the Latrobe Valley which was adjourned to a later date.

That use of a photo of a child was not meant to depict that child as" the" or "a" victim .

It was, in my belief using poetic liscence to illustrate vulnerable children in general.

The courts eventual dismissal of Steven Unthanks case against the Watchtower in my view was a travesty of justice.

I had the pleasure of meeting and talking to Steven at one of his court appearances and he was focused not ony on justice for the rights of JW children but also for the children in the community where JW`s door knocked .

Thanks to sheperdless and JWfacts for those graphs ,if nothing else it shows that families in the the religion of JW`s are no better off than the general population .

Despite what the WT publications state.

Family breakups are just as common and certainly no better than non JW`s.

One of the reasons JW`s get divorced ,because a mate leaves the religion ,is not something that occurs in the general population .

And is indicative of them being a cult.religion.

Watchtower Doctrines JWs most commonly don't believe

there was a recent thread on another site where posters maintained that many of the *most* long-standing jw's don't believe at least one official watchtower doctrine.

i've even read reports from bethelites saying they've heard bethel overseers say they don't believe some watchtower theology.

this made me think - i believe there are a few official doctrines that are common for many jw's to be either in denial about or simply not really believe ( often one and the same thing).. i'd say these are pretty high in the ranking:.

I think a lot of the current JW`s dont believe Armageddon is coming soon , and that is the reason the numbers of the Annointed keep going up.

They seem to reason that if the big "A" doesnt come in their lifetime they will hedge their bets by claiming to be of the annointed class and partake at the Memmorial Celebration.

Also in the years leading up to 1975 JW`s were almost running around the territory placing Mags and dropping off brochures at as many houses that they could .

Their was a real sense of urgency in their field ministry.

Today? Very little to no interest in FS ,no urgency to preach ,they are just going through the motions of being a publisher .

In the 60`s /70`s we had "Let God Be True" "The Truth That Leads To Everlasting Life " "Your Will Be Done " and Babylon The Great Has Fallen Gods Kingdom Rules"

Which had something meaty and relevant/applicable /pertinent to that era...... Now they are obsolete...old lite.

Whereas their are no such publications available and applicable to todays "World Events" to inspire and encourage or motivate the R&F.

The Roman Catholic Church has over a Billion members ? with millions of priests and church laity around the world

And the media have highlighted the child sex scandals that have engulfed the R.C.Church over the past decades.

Jehovahs Witnesses have only a fraction of their membership appoximately just over 8 million members that includes witnesses in positions such as Elders and Ministerial servants..and other higher ranks such as CO`s Do`s etc.etc.

I believe that if you made a comparison between the R.C.Religion and JW `s Religion ,amount of sexual abuses against minors compared to membership ,the Roman Catholic Church would pale into insignificance or if not they would at least be on a par. with the Jehovahs Witnesses religion.

jaydee ,I must have mis-read your post or got the wrong impression with your thumbs up on vienne `s comment ,who by the way querys the pyramid as being associated with C.T.Russell.?

Also if I`m not mistaken ,I loveTTATT2 also doesnt seem to believe that the pyramid is associated with C.T.Russells gravesite.,how many more ? I dont know

hiding the sin is unloving because it harms both the sinner and others. How? Jehovah might stop blessing the congregation with his holy spirit, and the congregation would not have peace.

Their must be a helluva lot of secret sinners in the congregations of JW`s in the western world where amalgamations ,selling off KH`s ,stagnant growth,closing down Bethels,laying off bethelites ,trimming CO`s and DO`s down in size,plus contributions are now on the slide.

Also their is a definite lack of zeal in the attitude of the average publisher nowadays always looking for an easy way of witnessing to people ,rather letting the people come to them as in cart witnessing.

Lets face it D2D witnessing is non effective nowadays and cart witnessing is even less effective.

The writing is on the wall for the JW religion to fade into obscurity as a fringe religious sect. more so than they are now.

Some people dont believe in coincidences however I believe a coincidence has to be too coincidental to not be a coincidence in the first place.
