  Discussion involving my Dad & other long timers - Mood is definately different

  i've seen several posts relating to the mood among longtime jws here recently.

  i thought i would add to that collection and recount a discussion i recently had with my dad and a small group of folks about his age.

  Kimbo`s taking the mickey out of us.LOL

  When i was 1st contacted late `59 I was told that this system of things could not last more than 5 yrs.And every yr/couple of yrs the same line was said.

  Too many of the older generation feel that they have too much at stake to leave,they have sacrificed their whole lives for this beleif,they can`t give it up now!

  It`s an admission they were wrong,some people can`t accept that,they would feel stupid to admit they gave their life for something that`s not true

  It would be an admmission they have put their trust ,not in GOD ,but imperfect human beings,and their interpretation of scriptures

  So I say that any older person,who is now acknowledging these problems and seriously questioning long held beleifs I take my hat off to you people and wish you well on your journey of discovery,wherever that may take you

  i've noticed quite a few dissidents of jehovah's organization that have left with some fixation on jehovah's witnesses concept of new light.

  i really don't understand.

  the antiquity of religion may be historically educational, but not always personally illuminating.

  If the Apostacy began circa 325 A.D. and "GOD" doesn`t do anything about it till the late 1800`s ,am I the only one who sees something wrong with that?

  What about those millions of people who have gone through" "HELL "on earth,defending an apostate religion,being put to death in such torturios conditions,and suffering ......,and all we hear,........ is silence from an ALMIGHTY GOD

  Whether it be Roman Catholic ,Eastern Orthodox,Greek Orthodox,Polish National Catholic Russian Orthodox.,Protestant Reformationists,Church of England,Lutherans etc.etc.

  The "GOD" of the bible has been conspicously silent over all these centuries

  I have some new light

  Maybe the God of the bible, doesnt exist

  I looked up your link and it seems my figures are pretty accurate

  How I got my numbers was to click on the members A-Z saw their was 20 listed per page then x the number of pages per letter,and that seemed to coincide with what Simon posted

  Of course I wouldn`t think of that being a senior,so taking your advise,by my caculations I would say since it`s inception 9 yrs ago ? Their have been more than 14240 members registered, from all over the world ,of course some have moved on and no longer post,but HEY I`M IMPRESSED I didn`t think their was that many.If anybody would like to verify my figures or dispute them by all means feel free to do so

  today is kim clijsters' birthday and a month ago she announced her retirement from tennis.

  i remember the week she was born very well.

  i have watched tennis since the late '70s, and i remember when billie jean king was a star, when jimmy connors was a hot new thing, and when "virginia slims" matches were shown on wtbs.

  I watched Li Na & Kim last night a good match,the best player one on the night,seems like a very likeable person kimmy.

  I think wer`re gonna see a lot more chinese players in the not so distant future ,Li Na seemed like a very nice person too

  it was thrilling to participate in the world wide protest, jan, 21-23 2011 exposing the watchtower organization for their policies on deliberately breaking up up families.

  we thank all those involved this past weekend for their passion and commitment to help free those trapped in falsehood.

  i am aware that many on this forum do not believe in protesting against the watchtower society,and i respect their position.

  The April 2011 Awake

  the new asleep is available on jw.org in its full color pdf glory.. i only glanced trough...seems pretty blah....except for the opening article and the pictures in particular.. the article addresses parents grieving to the loss of a small child due to an infectious disease.

  an unimaginable situation for any parent (myself included)!.

  the wt seems to show the natural reaction to the loss of a child and the expected grieving in a way that any normal parent would react.. however, it stood out in a stark contrast to the 1994 awake, where children lost to a stupid misunderstood and missaplied belief were lined up all smiling and their parents commended for the very actions that cut the life of their own children short!!.

  I maybe a little rusty on this ,but when the jw`s were bribing the officials in mexico,isn`t it true the organization wasn`t officially recognized as a religion ? It was a" cultural" organization ? The reason being at the time, was, only the catholic church, the only recognized religion in mexico, could own property.

  It was last yrs,or the year before,I counted 68 countries that were either negative or zero growth in their yb.That was approx.1/3rd of all the countries listed.

  Is this years report any improvement on that ?

  In these countries they spend a whole year going from door to door,and theirs absolutely no increase and even a decrease in publishers.

  Not very effective eh?
