You mentioned your wife falls back on "Where else will we go " I quote if I may Don Camerons book" Captives of A Concept" on pge.135 he discusses the subtle deception the WT uses.John6:68 Jesus had just asked Peter if he wanted to follow someone else.Peter answered "..Lord whom shall we go away to? YOU have sayings of everlasting life"

Peter was acknoweledging that their is nowwhere else to go to but to Christ. But note what the governing body does with Peters response.

NOWHERE ELSE TO GO

We will be impelled to serve (God) loyally WITH HIS ORGANIZATION if we remember that their is nowhere else to go for life eternal John 6:66-69

This switching of Peters words from the person of Jesus Christ to the organization of the Watchtower Society without anyone noticing the switch, testifies to how deeply captive everyone is locked into the concept holding them captive

I would highly recommend you read his book,it will set you free from Watchtower bondage forever

when i was a jw, the key issue that caused me to doubt the wt was the trinity.

the wtb&ts's blatent misquotations and misrepresentations of religious scholarship to fit their anti-trinitarian presuppositions are horrid and inexcusable.

that issue, however, was not the issue that caused me to become a christian.

If christianity is so important to the salvation of mankind,and the resurrection is a core doctrine,then why is God (and or) jesus just interested in giving this" so important" information to a handfull of people in a minority religous sect in the middle east,then leaving it up to imperfect human beings to decipher,debate,question, it all for 2000 years .

of course this comes as no surprise to those of us on this board- naturally, as we've informed ourselves.

however i felt it important to reveal the real dictionary definition of the word " generation " for newly exiting jehovah's witnesses so they can see for themselves how the wt society is twisting the real definition of this word to extend their faulty predictions of jesus prophecy about " this generation will by no means pass away.

so here is the actual definition of the word " generation " according to webster's newworld dictionary - .

My Wife wants to allow a Sister from her congregation to provide before and after care for my oldest daughter...

when my littlest one was born we knew finding affordable daycare would be tough.

a sister in her congregation was suggested over and over and we finally checked her out and allowed her to keep the baby.

my oldest has had a fairly normal life (thanks largely to me and my wife before she became a witness) and because of that she is quick to speak of birthdays, holidays, etc.. i want her to continue to have a fairly normal life as i know how hard it would be for her to be 'singled out' because her friends decide to do these things.. she's about to start kindergarten and my wife wants to try some sister from her congregation who is looking to make some extra money providing before and after care.

Was" all scripture is inspired by God" written down at that one time ? Or were their still books or letters that were still to be incorporated into the final cannon,not by God but by men. When that scripture was written not all the writings made up the bible.

Was the Bible, as we have accepted , 66 books, ( another 15 Deuterocanonicals & apocrypha ),been completed at that time ? Are they all inspired ?

Wasn`t their other books/letters after that scripture was written ,that wouldnt be included in that criteria ? Heaps of writings that were never included in the list of accepted inspired writings. Who made these decisions ? God? or humans .?

Has jesus Christ or Jehovah put their stamp of approval on what book or letter is inspired ?

Or has it rested upon mankind to determine what is inspired,or not by God

Where is the God of creations stamp of approval on this book that is supposed to verify his acceptance of his communication with his subjects

as if the other sept. 15th wt thread i started weren't controlling enough - in another study article titled " run ..... that you may attain it " were you aware that just eating and wearing clothes on your body - might be a " stumbling block " to you ?

in a prior article on pg.

12 , paragraph 6 the wt society sets up what they are trying to get across by stating, " people of the world tend to seek personal interests first as " men of this system of things, whose share is this life.

prosecutor nilce cunha rodrigues has taken on official representation of sebastian oliveira (ramos) who, after being expelled from the religion was discriminated against by colleagues, friends and relatives, including his mother, in accord with norms of the jehovahs witnesses who are headed by a governing body of the watchtower society.

The blood issue in Bulgaria ?

You cant dictate to your members they can`t have a blood t/fusion then disfellowship them if you do,thats co-ersion.

So what did they do ? O.K we wont disfellowship them. A change in policy ? Some thought so.

They said, that person who took a blood t/fusion by their own actions,chose not to be one of jehovah`s witnesses,and so dis-associated oneself from the organization....the result ? Shunning !!! The same as if he/she were disfellowshipped.

We`ll never know of course,but I wonder how many of them in those old photographs would have stuck it out in that religion,and died faithfull.
