it’s been one year since trey bundy first reported the watchtower’s child abuse problems.. twelve months ago the center for investigative reporting (cir) began publishing information about jehovah’s witnesses and their cover-up of child sexual abuse on their website, reveal.
Thank you Barb & Joe for posting this .However I am a bit thick and could not find how to contact CIR to thank Trey Bundy for all the work he has done as well as the Media he works for in exposing the WTB&TS for their failure to protect vulnerable children , their own members and/or the public from child abusers in their midst.

back in 1969, we were studying the book babylon the great has fallen - god's kingdom rules!
in the book study.
at one point, it commented regarding the "hailstones" that would fall, as described in the book of revelation, that these "hailstones" referred to the hard messages of judgment that we jws would be proclaiming to people after the great tribulation had begun, when there was no further hope of salvation for those who were not already jws.
I remember those days , I believe " Life Everlasting in The Freedom Of God" was the publication that pinpointed 1975 as the end of 6000 years of human history , and an appropiate time for the 1000 years of Jesus Christ to begin his rulership .
[first time they predicted the end of 6000 years was to have occurred in the late 1800`s according to C.T.Russell.]
It was also a time when "special " tracts were to be delivered to every householder , not to spend time at the doors just place these " special" tracts with every house.
The speculation was , their were to be delivered 7 tracts over 7 years that would bring denunciation on religion and Govt. culminating in widespread persecution until Jehovah stepped in at Armageddon .
Their was a sense of urgency and expectation from about 1969 through to about 1976-7
When of course no such thing happened many fell away , but not yours truly dumbass that I was .

today at work one of the clients that came in for advice was an elder and his wife.
they must be having issues they need help with.
this elder was the elder that told us not to go to a domestic violence shelter or not to go to the police when my daughter got a black eye.. am i bad because i smiled inside that they are having problems?.
I bet their gut turned a notch or two when they saw you as someone to speak to.
You handled the situation professionally well done.
Couldn`t they just wait on Jehovah ? to sort out their problems ?
Problems ? aren`t they in a spiritual paradise ? Surely problems don`t exist there .!

so witnesses reject many practices or holidays due to their "unscriptural or pagan" origins.. for example, birthday celebrations, mothers or father's day, christmas etc..... most people in the world will say "but the origin doesn't matter anymore, we follow this custom now because it's a joyful occasion that creates happy times and brings the family together".
it is still firmly rejected.. so, if the wrong origin is so important, and should result in rejecting something, why isn't the same principle applied to the actual jehovah's witness faith itself!?.
after all, the very foundation of the organisation was based on wrong understandings of the bible, far fetched teachings and doctrines, links to false religious backgrounds, pyramidology, false predictions, inaccurate beliefs etc...... using their reasoning, it doesn't matter how good something is now, if the origin was faulty to begin with?
It was in the 60`s , 70`s or maybe the 80`s that the Watchtower had a two ? part series dealing with the Chief Cornerstone of the true religion , Jesus Christ.and the Christian Religion .
It concentrated on the claims made by the Roman Catholic Church to prove the foundation of the R.C. Religion was not built on a solid foundation.
And they supposedly put forth evidence how Jehovah`s Witnesses were built on a solid foundation , the Chief cornerstone , in contrast to the R.C.Religion
Looking back in hindsight , the foundation cornerstone of I.B.S.A. /Jehovah`s Witnesses is anything but stable., more likely built on quicksand .

i've been thinking this for a while.
even before the arc scandal.
it seems no matter what, the org.
The ARC highlighted that JW`s never contacted the police or Child Protection Agency`s about the abuse that happened in 1006 cases that the judicial committees of J.W.`s handled over decades of time.
That is only in Australia , it is not the only Country , this same avoidance of contacting authorities has happened in .It is a recurring theme that has occurred in numerous Country`s across the globe , in Europe , Australasia , and the America`s .
So it is no isolated case.
It`s a worldwide policy that is the problem in the Jehovah`s Witness Religion that needs to be addressed .
Maybe the United Nations should become aware of this problem within the Jehovah`s Witnesses .

I expected to see dlilappidated old buildings that were run down and ready to be bulldozed , not some fine serviceable buildings that still had life in them .
Any update on what the congregations who met in those halls are now doing ?

almost two months into the change in format of the mid week meeting from the school and service meeting format to the christian life and ministry (clam) format.
in my congregation, seems attendance is down 10-15% over the normally low attendance for the mid week meeting before the change.
some indicate that the meeting under the clam format is very "intense"...you really need to study and research to be able to participate or get anything out of the meetings.
Midweek meetings were always under attended , and I`m going back well over 20 years ago .
So if meeting attendance is dropping even further that is good news to me.
The trickle leaving the religion, may yet turn out to become the floodwaters leaving , that no one can stop.

A church Elder said Child Abuse was a despicable crime and a sin , however Elders never inform Law Enforcement Agency`s or Child protection Authorities about these abuses when they come to light.and want to keep it in-house to protect Jehovah`s name.
