  "did you know, for example, that mothers and fathers that stroke the genitals of their fretful babies to keep them quiet are unwittingly encouraging them to become maturbators later on?".

  what sick fu... writing this article thought the the average person did this to keep kids quiet..

  Midweek meeting video

  did anybody see the service meeting video this week?.

  australian sister was sexually abused as a child and thought of ending her life at 14 years old, sometime later jw's call on her father who accepts a study and eventually the whole family becomes witnesses, life gets much better as the sister immerses herself in pioneering etc, she still has some dark days but prayer along with going for walks and swimming has helped her cope with bad memories of child abuse, the new system (just around the corner) will completely fix everything......... i'm dumbfounded, the hypocrisy has literally rendered me speechless......comments anybody?.

  you found out about ttatt way back in the 70's or maybe the 80's (basically before the internet) and you thought that you were all alone in this knowledge?

  what do you think would have happened to you?

  no jehovahs-witness.com, no john cedars, no arc, no jwfacts.com and no crisis of conscience to fall back on.

  I`m obviously a slow learner and was gullible.I converted in 1960 by a co-worker ,read all I could of WT literature including some old books "Jehovah" ",Vindication" and "Harp of God" and even read "30 Years a Watchtower Slave" and Marley Coles book that was supposed to be by an outsider.

  I convinced my then GF to join me ,we were baptised and married in a KH within 14 months and we were held up as an example at the CA where we were baptised a couple of months before our wedding.

  However I had nobody else to sound off about what I was reading and bought the line , the truth is progressive , the light is getting brighter as the day goes on.

  Had the internet been around back then and would it have made a difference to me ?

  I`m pretty damn sure it would have , simply because you can talk to others about your doubts ,you can hear other peoples response to your questions ,things that have always been discouraged by the WT.

  However it took us 33 years before we left the religion.in1993.

  How successful are others at getting ex-dubs together?

  for my first shunniversary i reached out to the local ex-dubs that i know.

  i invited 11 total to join me in a little get together at a local restaurant, then back to my house to hang out.

  one friend asked if he could invite others, and i encouraged him, and all, to do so.

  The JW religion brought many people together who would not ordinarily associate together , coming from all walks of life , socio-economic differences etc.that promoted socialising at the KH ,and at conventions and assemblys.

  Not to mention some weirdos who were attracted to the religion

  Some congregations I was in took the sociaising further where we got together for other activities.

  Maybe people are apprehensive / wary about meeting up with "strangers " again and feel they may be getting involved again in something their not comfortable with.

  Years ago I was in contact with a poster on this board who lives in the same state and we talked about meeting up for coffey,but it never eventuated .

  Does anybody know whether aaron is stil a JW ? He would have acheived a bit of celebrity status with that photo shot , that ended up being shown all around the world.

  I just wonder if his interest in photography would have taken on a new impetus with that photo and if it changed his life .

  So my husband got a letter

  so, he received a letter that i am wondering if it is one of those open letters that are out there to denote time given.

  it starts out with the name of the person sending it, then goes into the spiel...do you know our god's name?

  when i was shown what it is, i kind of got upset.

  And the fact that the name Jehovah should not be used in the Christian Greek Scriptures is demonstrated by the WTB&TS themselves.

  The kingdom Interlinear of The Christian Greek Scriptures a word for word translation of the Greek by the Watchtower clearly shows the Tetragrammaton YHWH /JHVH is not their.

  It`s an addition they have made to the Bible inserting Jehovah.

  After 52 years a Watchtower slave 9/11 gave me the push I needed to get out.

  i turned in my letter of disassociation on september 18, 2001 but it was 9/11 that showed me what the witnesses really feel about human lives and the future wished for.. i was in limbo after my wife of 27 years left me on july 30, 2001. she knew i wasn't buying the jw program anymore.

  she told me she come back to me when "i got my head straighten out about god and the church".. so for 40 days i was in limbo.

  i stopped going to meetings.

  It was about 11pm when the phone rang,my son asked are you wathimg TV ? No I said .

  Turn it on ,I asked what channel ,he replied any channel just turn your TV on.

  I just sat their for the next couple of hours in disbelief .

  I had left the Borg in 1992 and wasnt concerned about the big A or TGT ,

  I find it hard to comprehend that I believed this JW crap nowadays .

  It never ceases to amaze me how humans go to great lengths to stand up for what they believe is Gods law on this or that subject, even to the point of death in some cases .

  And in this case the loss of his job.

  Relying on a collection of books that are thousands of years old .

  Yet the so called authour of these books continues to remain silent , has nothing to say.After all this time, and does not lift a finger to either defend or support those who favour him.

  What should that tell you about an Almighty God.?

  i would love to compile a list of the education obtained by the governing body members both past and present.

  can anyone provide any information to get me started?.

  it still amazes me they think they can translate ancient languages with an 8th grade education.
