overall the numbers are better than last year (1.8% growth compared to 1.5% last year -- as i predicted ;-) ) with an increase in all major figures including 1300 more congregations (i assume this is not physical kingdom halls?).

From freddo`s figures Australia is down by 1217 pubs from their peak number a couple of years ago .

jambon1 ,I can remember that memorial partakers were stagnant at approximately 8000 more than 20 years ago and now its over 18000 ? Incredible !

Beth-Shan - Digital Reconstruction - IMAGES & DRAWINGS WANTED

as part of my masters in architecture degree (a treat to myself after leaving jws about 4 years ago), i'm attempting to digitally reconstruct some of watchtower's significant early buildings.

my goal is to produce accurate architectural drawings and images based on solid evidence.

Beth sarim I have been familiar with but Beth Shan ? thats a knew one on me ,how could I not know anything about this place.?

I have been "out" for more than 20 years but have been on this site for about 10 years and I`ve never heard of Beth shan before. Or is it something that just never registered with me.?

I was "in" for 33 years and knew about Beth Sarim but never heard anything about Beth Shan .before.

How any adult JW can simply dismiss these facts from their own publications as "old light" is beyond me.

At the time of these pronouncements it was "new light" from Jehovah

What twisted thinking it is to suggest that old light ( from Jehovah) ,which was new light at the time ,is now old light ( also from Jehovah ) and to be discarded.

Doesnt that imply they treat Jehovah as an idiot who doesnt know what he is talking about ?

The mind boggles. (sane minds that is )

who are looking after the aged and infirm jehovah`s witnesses ,?

its certainly not the organization known as the wtb&ts ./jehovahs witnesses religion .. and why is that ?

satans system of things with jehovahs blessing , has programs to look after those who have such needs , such as the dole for unemployed ,medical assistance for those who cant afford it ,and their are many charitable institutions that look after those that fall in the cracks.

I think Jah Jireh operates in a couple of countrys by some Jehovahs Witnesses as a commercial venture that has no connection with JW.ORG . Its purely a business venture operated by some JW`s. to make money.

Apparently they have strict rules as to who can benefit from their services .

Clients/patients must be exemplary/in good standing in their former congregation and have enough money to be able to pay for the services provided.

It is an Aged Care facillity that is exclusive to Jehovah`s Witnesses .Nobody else is wanted .

It is not a service or facillity officially provided by the WTB&TS /Jehovahs witness organization.

On the other hand religious organizations such as St.Vincent De Paul ,Roman Catholic cater for everybody religious or not , AngliCare also provide the same service ,as do many other christian religions such as the Seventh day Adventists ,many of these and others not mentioned here provide services ,health care ,hospitals , soup kitchens and accomodation for homeless peoples ,They exist to help the needy and down and out to get back on their feet again and be productive citizens once again .And they have success.

Jehovahs Witnesses pale into insignificance compared to these organizations.

They are not a charitable organization and they should be stripped of that designation.

Whats going on with the 144000 thing? Spiritual people in the org...

kind of a two fold question, use to have discussions with witnesses about the 144000 and how i didnt agree with it being spiritual because tribes are defined, also mentioned that early on in revelations that a measurement was given for gentiles and i explained that i belived that that was basically foundating that the prophecies proceeding would have nothing to do with gentiles as in they are not measured in these concerns.

never did get any decent reasoning from them on that.. but i haven't heard about that doctrine in a while or online.

granted there are a lot more messed up stuff they teach but these things gave me the impression that it would effect the org if anyone could claim to be of the 144000. are these people suppose to be spiritual?

The Governing Body has become more business oriented rather than spiritually oriented for a long time.

Maybe the R&F are beginning to see through their sham at last .

All the sales of KH`s and mergers taking place,,Branch Offices ,Brooklyn Bldgs, downsizing of mags,( poor quality ) cart witnessing is a joke ,layoffs at Bethel`s ,reduction in DO`s, CO`s ,special pioneers ,Missionaries , etc , surely this all has to have an effect especially on the older generation that something just does not add up.

A couple of years ago they were saying they needed more KH`s now ? they are reducing them ? whats up ?

And the continual appeal for the R&F to contribute more $$$ and do more in the ministry.

Sadly it`s not the WTB&TS /JW`s who are their to fill that gap.

And how many Jehovah`s Witnesses in good standing are looking and caring after their aged parents in their time of need.? How many do you personally know of ? or are they shunted off into a religious institution that they have condemned all their life.

I know of a few aged JW`s who are relying on aged care facillities to look after them that are run and financed by Christendoms Religions.

How many do you know of.?

Jehovahs Witnesses are parasites on society. They suck all they can out of this world and they give nothing back.

And they give nothing back to the aged and infirm who have slaved a lifetime to this organization that poses as a religion.

in case you were wondering if the governing body we're going to become kinder and gentler, the answer is a big "no!!!

in the current study edition of the wt magazine, the sheeple are reminded of some very important key points.

1) god has an organization ( corporation ) that you must respect.. 2) only the gb/faithful slave can dispense spiritual food and only the gb/faithful slave can interpret the bible.. 3) individual dubs absolutely cannot learn "truth" on their own.. 4) god requires "unity of doctrine.

"Historical" Announcement This Week?

my daughter asked if anyone has heard anything about a 'big announcement' being made sometime this week in congregations in canada and possibly beyond... in her words "it's like a biggggg long thing, they cut out part of the book study for it and people heard it was a historical thing"... any ideas?

could it be the mexican branch closing or the theme of the convention?

or something else?
