  Whatever happened to these prophecys . Zech. 8:23 / Isa..60 :22 .Do they ever refer to it now ?

  "this is what jehovah of armies has said...."it will be in those days that ten men out of all the languages of the nations will take hold ,yes they will actually take hold of the skirt of a man who is a jew saying:"we will go with you people,for we have heard that god is with you people ".. this was a scripture that was presented to me, that i was fullfilling bible prophecy , when i first became interested in jw`s and of course all other studies,baptisms that were occuring at that time .and the clincher of course was,.

  isa.60:22 the little one himself will become a thousand and the small one a mighty nation.i myself jehovah,shall speed it up in it`s own time .. and i`m talking now about the early 1960`s.

  The revelation book says the cedar point Ohio Convention was prophesied in the Bible book of revelation ?

  My thought bubble now as an old fart.

  Jupiter protects the earth... another example of intellectual dishonesty and an argument against design

  i'm taking a university astronomy course, and i must say it's really fun to read about this field.

  anyway, i remember the jws used to use jupiter (and probably still do) as an example for how unique and special our solar system is (and thus designed) -- namely, that jupiter protects the earth from astroids, comets, and meteors.

  convincing if one doesn't know any better, especially circa 1994 when jupiter stepped in front of a comet for us... but this isn't the full story!

  If you don't rat on your friends to the elders if they do something the WT says is wrong you're not loyal to Jehovah.

  That was me Brokeback Watchtower back in the 80`s when I was a true believer .

  Two couples friends of ours were on the verge of swapping partners and I did exactly as you describe
  

  Approach that friend, and urge him to report the matter to his parents or to the elders; tell him

  that if he does not do so within a reasonable period of time, you will (Pr 27:5; w91 6/15 21)

  Study with an Elder - propose a question.

  hello there.. as some of you might remember i am keeping my facade up by "studying" with an elder.

  this study however is more of a session where i put hard questions about the org, doctrine and so on, on the table.

  the time has come for the next session in a couple of days, and i have quite frankly lost the will to keep digging up things that just shouldn't be happening.

  On another thread the poster , yizuman points out how many times the WT flip flopped as to whether the men of Sodom & Gomorrah would be resurrected.And he lists the publications to verify it.

  I think that would be a good question to ask him along with when is the "truth" the real "truth" and how can the Holy Spirit give such conflicting opposing "truths" in a matter of a few decades.?

  My Introduction

  this is my first post and i'm feeling like i'm doing something bad big time!

  i know on my mind it isn't, but the feelings are less manageable.. well, since i'm still a jw it's better not to give too much info, but i'm from brazil.. i've grown-up in the religion and practicly all my family, my closest friends and my girlfriend are loyal jws.

  i used to be a regular pioneer but i still have a service privilege on my congregation.. i've had questions about the teachings of the wt since i was 10, but naturally i always pushed it away as it were "questioning the holy organization".. i started a friendship with some people in a course i took and we talked about a lot of subjects.

  Beards a-poppin!

  i live in a pretty conservative area of the united states, and in the past two decades i can remember 2, that's right, two instances of seeing a jw with a beard in my area.

  (not counting myself at times, 😜, and i'm obviously not counting bearded visitors dressed in casual clothes).. however at this year's convention, i saw about a dozen bearded jws .

  this is like an explosion where i live.

  Necessity is the mother of new light. Policies change because circumstances force the change.

  And we have examples in the following.

  1914 ,when armageddon was going to happen and all the IBSA believers were going to heaven

  1925 When JF Rutherford said that 1925 was more certain than 1914 that the faithfull men of old would be resurrected in that year.

  Their was expectancy during the period of WW2 that the end was near.

  Then of course the well documented period leading up to the year 1975 where the GB of the WT society led their faithfull to expect Armageddon would occur in that year or failing that no more than a few months later but certainly not years away.

  More recently the religion was saying that Gods prophecys about the Great Tribulation and Armageddon would be fullfilled by the end of the 20th Century

  And hear we are in the 21st century with none of the JW/WT predictions are even on the horizon.

  Remember" Babylon The Great Gods Kingdom Rules" ? where they stated religion was in decline ? A failed prophecy.

  The green book "Your Will Be done On Earth " the USSR was the king of the north

  The USSR does not exist anymore and the JW`s do not know who is the king of the north

  Conclusion : It doesnt seem to me like they are getting their information from a living God who knows what he is doing if they can get so many things wrong.

  Maybe ,just maybe they arent being used by God/Jehovah after all.

  there may not be anyone on the planet that has inside information about watchtower abuse in regard to sexual child abuse than zalkin.

  he has been given a plethora of inside information but can not share it by order of the court.

  when will the courts lift this veil of protection for religious entities?

  I have no knoweledge of this ,and i am only saying it because of past revelations and it is not meant to implicate anyone in any way.

  However could it be that their are people in high places in government ,the Judiciary ? that are involved in these crimes and are pulling the strings to sweep these allegations under the carpet ?

  And to wipe these allegations from court files ?

  Its not unheard of.

  Zalkin. He has been given a plethora of inside information but can not share it by order of the court. When will the courts lift this veil of protection for religious entities? Why doesn't mandated reporting follow through for attorneys?

  These are good questions that need to be answered the girl next door

  Maybe Zalkin and the Australian Royal Commission need to swap notes and use their legal expertise to finally bring the WT/JW to justice.
