the board has seen a kind of war, and sarcasms and caustic remarks have been more the rule than the exception in some threads.
usually these ends up adding something positive to the community or the forum where the war raged, and its much like a thunderstorm.

What drives exJWs to atheism?
by ros ina significant number of former jehovah's witnesses come out of the watchtower still believing the bible and considering themselves christians.
most coming out are in a serious state of bewilderment, and they look intently and sincerely for something to fill the huge void of lost religion, lost family and friends, and lost fellowship.
they seek some viable spiritual association with others of like mind while at the same time having become very wary of any organized religion.. what is it that eventually draws so many of us (not me) to agnosticism or atheism?

Besides that, if the child did not dare ask such a question, then that doesn't give one a lot of confidence in the fairness or honesty of the parent? Or is that parent or those morons who claim to represent him trying to hide pesky facts about him?

The Bible God is a cold-blooded, bloodthirsty, genocidal maniac. Those are facts for those who believe in the Bible to be a factual account about God in history. He has no problem with having little children hacked to death, with infants being held by their legs and having their little brains splattered against a wall, with having parents kill and eat their own children because he personally decided to bring a famine upon those poor hapless parents, with murdering the first-born of ALL children in a world empire because a Pharoah was a jerk, with having his "chosen" people take tens of thousands of little girls as sex-slaves from a culture they massacred (Lev. 31) and from other unspeakable atrocities the Bible talks about.
Yep, I'm "stumbled." The Bible did it. It wasn't another person who stumbled me. It wasn't demonism that stumbled me; it was the Bible in its raw and unvarnished gore that stumbled me. The Bible God is a monster and if you would actually READ the Bible you would understand why your argument falls flat on its face.

Good story. Probably apocraphal, but still a feel-good-warm-fuzzy story. Carl was the "White Knight" in the story and the gang members were the "Evil Fields" and "Dark Ones." Carl not only took the abuse, but he was Christ-like about it. He didn't crow, and he didn't pat himself on the back for showing his goodness. And he most certainly didn't vilify those boys. He just let the chips fall, and eventually he had his reward.
Yes teejay, there is a lot YOU can learn from your own story.

Did they happen to defined exactly what "degrading" is? Of course it MUST be something that is done when a married couple in the privacy of their own bedroom and with absolute mutual consent do and which also harms neither of them, but gives pleasure to one or both them. Well, SHAME on them, those married dummies! Married in the sight of God and given permission to engage in sex (actually it was an Edenic command). After a while of being married, most couples kind of get bored with the old "grunt, grunt, squirt, squirt" part and endeavor to spice things up a little bit to keep their love-life active. Well THOSE CRIMINALS! How DARE they do such a thing in the rule-driven world of WatchtowerLand? Isn't sex in all its various forms supposed to be FUN? God made it to be fun. Idiotic humans are trying to take away what God made it to be. Who ARE these people who think they can state crap like that as if God himself was speaking?
What sickens me most about such comments from those Brooklyn anal types is they did not precisely define "degrading sex practices" among hetero married couples Of course, they cannot, because the Bible doesn't do it. Yet they are a totally "Bible-based" religion. Or are they? As a result of using that general term, they will continue to wreck even more marriages. Wife says: "You can't touch me there. It's degrading. Just enter me and have your way, but if you take too long, it's degrading. And don't kiss my breasts, either. I think that is degrading. In fact, don't even kiss my lips, either. I think that is degrading." Husband says: "won't you even take off your bra, or let me turn the lights back on?" Wife says: "NO! That's degrading. Just do it to me."
Of course, the husband could also be the rabid dub who finds anything his healthy and frisky wife might imagine to also be degrading.
Those Brooklyn Arseholes are the most disgusting Pharisees imaginable. I spit on each and every one of them for manipulating and harming good people like that. They are screwing around with marital life and they have no right, Biblical or otherwise to do so. Those "suggestions" from this last District Assembly will destroy countless marriages. I will guarantee it.

In all fairness to You Know, he has never sunk that low. It was LurkerNoMore who did that. You Know has a thousand times more class the LNM. That being said, you can easily figure out how much "class" LNM has.
I don't understand why you boys are fighting, either. You both are stuck in something and both want to be right at all costs. Is it worth it? You both know how much I (and others) care about each of you, and I'm not sure if this discussion is worth the energy it is taking. Is it, really?
