some fine ladies next door came and hung out tonight, i have to work tomorrow, so i couldn't go with them to the brazilian night "carnival" planed for later this evening.... bit i managed to let them hear the beatles "abby road" album with a few glasses of wine before they left.
they had never heard it, mostly because they're in their 20's, but not one lady left before they wanted to buy their own copy... 'something" was their favorite... they said it was one of the most sexy songs they ever heard... old george wrote my most favorite songs by the beatles... "here comes the sun" is my favorite george song... what's yours?
Oh Bla Di Oh Bla Da
Yellow Submarine
I can't stop!

Ooh I just listened to Golden Slumbers and Carry that Weight on YouTube; I know the songs but didn't know the names of the songs! So thanks for that.
I would own every single Beatles album if I could but that's a lot of money and it's hard to find them where I am, for some reason, I have no idea why.
I second the opinion that you need to rent Across the Universe. It's a great movie - a musical based on the Beatles' music - the songs and lyrics are used to tell a love story set in the 60's. It's so great.
Oh, and I thought of another one: Hey Jude. http://youtube.com/watch?v=wgrrQwLdME8 (this is a tiny kid in diapers singing Hey Jude, and he's doing a damn good job, I'd say - kinda crazy!)

Yea, these ladies are in their 20's, they look at me like a good old friend, an uncle probably. They couldn't believe the Beatles wrote anything other than yesterday that's any good...they were flipping out!
For the record, I'm in my 20's. I guess I'm just lucky that my parents were smart enough to raise me listening to this music. Good on you for enlightening these girls; they needed it, Uncle Huff!

Dawg, I think the real question is "Does a bad Beatles song exist?"
Well, does it? I haven't found one yet.

i started this in another thread but i think it deserves its own......... does anyone else notice, that as they see the wt for what it is, the wt articles seem to not actually "teach" anything anymore?
- it just seems to constanly preach over and over to not listen to apostates, not listen to news/internet/documentaries, not listen to anything critical of the org.
just to read the bible and "by extension" bible-based literature.
Thanks Rachel,
I just wish it was that easy..........
You are right, it's not easy. Like MOG said, we have been where you are. From the other side, I can say, it's a hard road, but the best one I've taken. I don't regret leaving. I hate how things are with my family, but if you play your cards right you can have some semblance of a relationship with them. There are those who have been out longer than me who say it's not worth the charade to have a fake relationship with your JW family, but each person has to decide and define this for himself. With some of my JW friends and family members, a clean break has been the best thing. But it's not easy. It hurts like hell. But it's rewarding too.
It helps to talk about yoru situation - there are a lot of smart people here with similar experiences and great ideas. You might be surprised with what we can come up with.
Good luck and Best Thoughts to You!
We are here for you.
PEACE,
Rachel
i know of quite a few that did , some have never been found out , are they asked by the elders before the wedding if they have done it ?
LOL, I'm so glad to know that I was not the only one who read this wrong.
No, I don't know anyone who did it in the KH.
Yes, I know lots of people who did it before they got married.
Yes, it's hypocritical, but it's also people just being people.
If the elders find out about it, there will be repercussions.

Also, I do want to add that I have a job that I enjoy very much, but I've been sick lately, so then I feel idle and lonely whilst I'm stuck at home in bed, and that doesn't help matters. So I'm sure once I am over this stupid flu/cold and back to my "normal" self, I'll be much more occupied with my own things and that'll make things easier at home too. Right now, I just wish my boyfriend could come home and hang out with me, but he's far too dedicated for that, and boy, now don't I just sound like such a whiner? Yes, yes I do. I'm a pathetic whiner.
I think I'm going to go back to that goddess thing again, and live up to my alias.

Thanks, Billy, it's good advice. I can always use the advice of a man when it comes to trying to understand my man, and I'm not even mad that you butted in on my "private" session - LOL.
I did give him a massage this morning when he woke up crabby and sore. And before he left for work he thanked me multiple times for "'a wonderful morning". There's a time to speak and a time to shut up (isn't that a scripture, lol, just kidding) and I know that I just need to button it for now and find my own pursuits to keep me busy and fulfilled while he's off taking over the world. I can of course still be supportive of him, without smothering and being needy.
And I think Flip made a most revealing point when he said he read that men aren't multi-taskers as much as women are. Isn't that the truth of it! That makes me feel a helluva lot better, I'll tell ya, because my man can only think of work right now. I was starting to feel inferior.
P.S. Good luck with your internet porn addiction, erm, I mean, your friend's addiction.
