It's not about you, changeling, it's about JG! It's always about JG! When will this board figure that out? In fact, could we please change the board to be called "Junction-Guys-Jehovahs-Witness.com"? Please, Simon? Wow, that would be going out with a bang, now wouldn't it?

Tell Simon why we want JWD to stay... our apprecaition...
by burningbridges inok, i'll start, maybe if we can all tell simon our reason why this site means so much to us he will reconsider and leave it here.
this site has given me the courage to speak out.
i used to be ashamed of my history with the witnesses.

What makes you so sure, kerj? Seriously. Are you saying Simon is just messing with us? I don't get your post.
Maybe not messing with you, but it's sure nice to hear how important this site is.
Hey, I don't personally want to spend hours and hours running and moderating a discussion forum. I like the freedom I have to just post and read and contribute when I have time to spend here. So, I don't mind letting Simon know how much we appreciate the site. I think he (and Ang, and the mods) deserve to hear it from us, and should have heard it from us without things coming to this. Whether or not he is shutting it down (which I think he should stick to his word, even though I am really sad to see it go), this thread is just about some waaaaaaaaaaay overdue appreciation, the way I see it.

Parental FAILURE.
by easyreader1970 inone thing i really hate.
the wbts basically says that if your child does not grow up a productive members of jehovah's witnesses, in spite of everything else they may be capable of achieving, you fail as a parent.
this bothers me.

Beta Male said: she actually said she'd just "have moe kids"? what a dick, saywhat. i wouldnt know how to react to something like that.
Believe it, Beta, my mother has said something similar to that on more than one occasion to my siblings and me, separately, not to all of us together. The first few times it really hurt, but now I know she is just trying to protect herself since her own beliefs are actually that she is going to lose her own children and how sad that makes her feel. -

Yeah, my mother breaks my heart with how guilty she feels. She cries a lot and says how she did the best she could but yet she failed (3 out of 4 kids not JW's). I hate it! We are all successful in our lives, but the non-JW stuff isn't worth sh*t to them!
I just want my mom to be happy too, and she will never be happy unless I am miserable! (i.e. am a JW again)
It's all about the guilt and shame. Like Sir Nose (I think) says it's good for business. -

Oh man, I feel so badly for that poor girl! She is too smart to waste her life away this way! I hope she gets a 2nd chance at college - she needs to get away from her family!
Do you get to talk to your nieces and nephews? I'm guessing they have to shun you too... I'm sorry ... just thought maybe you could be a positive influence in their lives...

How many knew of...
by tresdecu inelders, mss, pioneers, ... heck even cos who privately expressed doubts to you directly or other reliable sources?.
(i hate the distinction between those "spiritual giants" (i never was one...just a r&f/ms) and the common folk).
but it's interesting / stregthening to hear stories of them expressing their distaste at some of the bs..

This makes me wonder about my favorite CO. After I left, I have often wondered how he could be so smart, and so charismatic, and not know it's all a farce? He probably does know...

Craziest thing you've ever been "counseled" for????
by superman ini know that this has been a popular post in the past.
but after my last post, it got me thinking.
i used to always use those stupid field service report slips as scratch paper.

Mama, I just wanted to say, that even though I am sure it's painful for you to talk about your experiences, it is so VITAL that you do - one more voice against this stupid religion and the way it ruins so many lives! I am so sorry for all the pain that you have endured, and I am amazed, like others have brought out, how well you have turned out, considering you didn't even get a chance to grow into a well-adjusted adult! I'm glad you are here!
Love,
