i just want to say that i used to be judgemental of athiests, but as a jw backer everyone on here finds nothing but wrong doing with the orginizations.

well i am sure i can find wrong doing with other churches and their teachings as well.

Now the whole reason why I brought up this topic is because if all these topics about witnesses have truth behind them I guess Athiesm would be the way to go. I am not necessarily saying that is the way I would go , I was trying to come up with a logical conclusion.

I have had conversations with people of other christian faiths, and I dont agree with all their teachings either. In all honestly there are many gray areas. Even though many people who have been jws on here disown the jw faith now, it still gives some helpful insight about other religions and why there are false. Even if I would prove myself to be wrong on what I believe I would not believe in any other faith either. NOTE: this is not because I am blindsided by my faith either, because I have been away from the JW faith for some time. I have no problem making up my own mind. I was never babtized so I have little pressure on me at all.

I believe many christian people of different faiths meen well, but I believe they are no more important to me than the jw faith is to people on here. This is not because of how I was raised either, but because of what I know, read and conversated with people of other christian faith. This is why I came up with the whole athiest topic.

Hey I understand. Alot of the topics you brought up of course you cant find them in the bible, but you can find bible reasoning on subjects, such as playing the lottery. LIke when the bible warns of riches, materialism. Also, points like when jesus turned downed the riches of the world.

Another example I can relate to. Playing sports I dont find to much wrong with it so I will agree with you on that, but when I played sports in high school I didnt have time for the meetings anymore, and other teammates who attended regular church activities didnt have no more time for that either, so it seems to me that I was putting fun in front of beneficial, or more time devoted to sports instead of god.

Vinny, sorry if my comments back are not the greatest, I am quite rusty on bible talks and so forth, so I have a hard time explaining subjects the way I want too.

A few of you asked what exactly I meant by athiests are the smartest ones on here. I was speaking of their beliefs and their comments on here. Like I said in my original post Im a jw backer, but I find fault with so many other religions as well, so beyond the viewpoint of what I think , if I had to back any other group besides the one I back up now, athiesm seems to be the most intelligent way to go.

It was nice to get support on here for once. I about fell over. Maybe I should have complimented the athiests before. Wow maybe you guys are more humble than the other people associated with other christian groups on here.

Let me clean that up real quick I know everyone is smart on here I was using the athiests are the smatest ones on here for more of driving the point across.

churches or spas

i know alot of topics on here are focused on how boring the jw faith is and all the stuff about what you can and can not do.

i thought i would ask the reverse questions about church.

i know some of you might go to smaller churches so this may not apply to you, but talking to some of my buddies and from people at work sometimes i think they just go to church fo the girls and for all the recreation.

I know some of you might go to smaller churches so this may not apply to you, but talking to some of my buddies and from people at work sometimes I think they just go to church fo the girls and for all the recreation. I have actually been to some of their churches and it seems like they are set up more like a fitness center/ spa than a place of worship. My buddies are always talking about their softball and basketball leagues and they hardly ever say anything about the church itself.

Im not saying there is anything wrong with this, but I was just wondering if you didnt have these things in some churches do you think as many people would go? (especially younger ones). I love all sports and would enjoy playing in a league, but the guys I talk to at work say you have to go to the church to participate, and they make it sound all great, but the conversation is never centered around the church, so should I consider this bribary?

IF YOU WOULD PLEASE JUST ANSWER THE QUESTIONS. I DIDNT ASK FOR SARCASTIC COMEBACKS OR COMPARISONS OF THE JW FAITH VS. CHURCHES.

Well I am sure I can find wrong doing with other churches and their teachings as well. It is pretty easy actually from all the discussions I have with people of other religions. So if there is nothing great about the jw faith and other religions teachings are false as well I guess I would have to conclude that the athiests are the smartest ones on here.

Do you expect perfection in people?

many witnesses are perfectionists.

they have this image of what you should be like before they can accept you as a person, but even then you are constantly being judged, so you are never good enough no matter how much you try.

ive been reading posts here for the last few months and have noticed that sometimes people are quite judgmental and even abrasive with each other.

I think people stretch this a little too far. yeah it gets a little hard sometimes, but I wouldnt call them perfectionists because from a moral stand point I dont believe the things they ask of you are hard to follow. I never felt like I was judged to much and I played sports in high school. Sometimes I woner if people experiences would have been better in different congregations. There are bad apples in every religion. Im a jw backer and I will even admit I dont think alot of elders get things right, but there are probably alot of fake elders, but you have these things in alot of religions.

What I am saying is that I believe some people come on here for the wrong reasons, and they never were disfellowshipped they would probably not waste their time to come on here. I just dont get how people come on here and all of a sudden they know everything and know all the lies and so forth, because most disfellowshipped ones dont know that till after the fact of listening to people on here.

Look I said I was talking to most disfellowedshipped ones who come on here who know they done wrong. I know some of you have experiences that arent the greatest that is why I said this was not directed towards everyone.

Also there are bad people among all religions and there are crooks in every religion.
