patio34 I dont believe religion should be in government, but they gave prayers, and the democrats in mind try to be more religious in their ways, but then they go against everything the bible condemns.

politics, homosexuals, athiests
by BR25 ini still have the jws beliefs, but havent attended in probably 5 years or so.
i have an interesting question to ask.. as much as everyone slams the jws on here, i want some insite on politics.
now i watched the democratic covention the last few nights, and i really want a democrat myself, but couldnt help hearing bill, hillary and other democrats wanting not only wanting equal rights for all races, children, but also homosexuals.

I used this as an example only, not because I wanted to hate on gay people first off. When I think equal rights I think of gay marriage. Its amazing how people knock gays all the time and bring up the bible against them, but as soon as person of jw belief asks how can this be ok now, nobody agrees. Look how the Catholics were looked upon after the gay bishop. How can it not be against bible scriptures then, if its in politics. Gods words or Mans. Also Im sure this is not the only thing in politics that goes against gods word to. So why even go to church? Not with just jws, but in all religions youve got to be on one side or the other.
Drew Sagan I guess this is a question to the so called christians whose religions are supposed to be perfect.
Gopher thanks for the info and good post.

First of all I get on here every now and then. I still have the jws beliefs, but havent attended in probably 5 years or so. I have an interesting question to ask.
Now as much as everyone slams the JWs wouldnt that be against bible principles of any religious person who would vote for this???
Ive seen discussions on here and other places where the bible has been thrown at homosexuals, but its ok to vote for these things???? I KNOW ALOT OF PEOPLE ARE NOT VOTING FOR DEMS BECAUSE OF THIS, BUT IT STILL PART THE DEMOCRATIC BELIEF, so in a whole it makes against gods word. Tell how me how this is alright.
You know Im starting to understand athiests more and more everyday. Yeh people can poke fun at the jws beliefs all day long, but its just as easy to find faults with other religions.

would you still be a JW?
by BR25 infrom coming on here from time to time i notice there is many disfellowshipped ones and alot of those who didnt like their freedoms taken away from them.
ignoring what you have researched and know now how many of you, honestly if there was no disfellowshipping and say you were allowed to have more freedoms such as playing sports, how many of you would still be witnesses?
once again ignore ever coming on here for insight and so forth.

Didnt mean to come off as rude. My apologies. The reason I put it that way is because almost everyone I know never left the JW faith just because they stop believing in it, especially younger ones including myself. I started doing more things I wanted to do and drifted away from it. I read many subjects on here and some our about what you cant do so I just thought Id ask.
I do think some of you left because you found it wasnt truthful, but I also think that some wanted to find out just because of all the priviligies taken away from them or family issues because of being disfellowshipped. I joined sports in high school. I drink to get drunk from time to time. I just got bored with all things you couldnt do and I know that alot of times this is why people drift away that is why I asked these questions. Im one of these people so Im not trying to get at anyone. I beilieve alot of the faith still to this day, but I enjoy freedom as well.

I find it hard to believe nobody would still be a JW if there was no disfellowshipping or you had more freedoms. With so many stories on here about what you cant do and disfellowshipping there has to be quite a few. Most of the ex witnesses I know left because of being disfellowshipped or because of boredom not because they found out is was false. Most people dont even question the JW faith till they want out and these are 2 of the biggest reasons why people want out. The questioning of faith usually comes later so I think some would still be JWs whether they want to admit it or not.

different congregations
by BR25 ini know that most of you dont believe in the jw faith anymore, but do any of you think certain things might have went different for you if in a different congregation?
ive mentioned before that i believe in what the jws believe.
im asking this question though because ive been to a couple of congregations in different areas and ive found some to be more heartworming, more open, and happier than others.

No matter what religion you are from you always have bad apples.

I havent attended the meetings in a long time. I guess I have a little laziness in me. Im the type that has to be on the move and entertained. I get bored easily so sad to but that probably one of the main reasons I dont attend.

Sorry didnt mean to do that. I read some of the comments on here and I understand where some people are coming from, but I dont understand alot either. Im a JW backer on alot of things. I dont go to the meetings anymore though.
I know you all have a problem with the heaven and true christians on a paradise earth subject. I know you all have your own beliefs on how to be saved. I know you think Jws way of thinking is hard to understand, but to me other peoples reasoning is hard for me to understand as well.
For example. Some dont go to any church and tell me just as long as you believe in god your fine. Others say if you pray to be saved youre automatically saved. Ive also heard that if you are a good person and do good for people your fine as well.
Now Im not here to say that the Jws are right but one question that I have is if you do believe in Jesus and you believe he died for our sins dont you think a little more is expected of people because 99percent of people I talk to give me these responses. To me its not enough to say well I done good deeds, prayed, and that should be enough for someone who died for our sins. No matter what religion your from.
